Hey guys! I need some more ideas for Chase and Aura. Please tell me if you have any. I hope you enjoy!
" Happy birthday to you!! " I smile at everyone as they sing to me. Dad smiles as I blow out the candles. It's my fourteenth birthday. And I get to spend it with dad!!! I'm so happy.
Marissa hands me a bunch of presents. " Aw, guys. Thanks. " I smile up at everyone. I open up some of the gifts. Most of the adults gave me fancy clothing and electronics. I got video games and consuls from the boys. Lip glosses, nail polish, and jewelry from the girls.
I take a bite of the cake I'm handed and laugh at some joke Tommy tells. He gets confused halfway through the joke and turns to his dad for help.
" Hey, Aura. Can I talk to you for a moment? " Chase asks as he gestures to the door.
" Um, sure. " I set my stuff aside and wipe my hands on my pants as I stand up. I walk over to the balcony where he's standing and close the door behind me. " What do you need to talk about? "
" I wanted to give you, um, to give you this. " He pulls a small, dark, velvet green box from his pockets.
" Oh. " I smile.
He hands me the box. " Open it. "
I gently open the box and his fingertips brush mine as he lets go of the soft container. My heart raced at the small contact and my stomach gets butterflies. I open the box and gasp at the beauty of the contents. A small dog, a St. Bernard, is on an expensive-looking chain. The dog has diamonds, real diamonds, and my first name is engraved in fancy small letters on the collar.
I look up at Chase. " Chase. " I say in a breathy gasp.
Chase nervously looks at me while he rubs the back of his neck. " Do you, um, do you like it? "
" Oh my gosh! Yes! I love it. Thank you so much. " I wrap my arms around his neck as I hug him. " You didn't have to do this. It's beautiful. "
Chase chuckles. " I thought you would like it. I wanted to give you something...with meaning. "
" Thanks, Chase. " I say softly.
" Happy birthday Aura. "
