It's been two weeks since I saw my dad. I'm really happy all the freaking time. I don't know why. I guess I'm just happy about life. Everything is awesome and amazing.
I hum to myself as I finish tying the last bow on the little presents I got everyone the other day. Tony and the others got tired of walking around Maine Street with me and finally just handed me the credit card and said ' Spend it all '. I know he was joking, but I bought a lot of stuff for everyone. I got things I know they need or want while they sat at a Starbucks across the street.
I pick up as many boxes as I can before calling for help. " Chase! "
He walks into my room and looks up from his phone. " Hey, Aur-Oh my gosh. How many presents did you buy? " He looks at my stuff.
I shrug. " I need help moving the stuff to the living room. "
He nods and picks some boxes up. We transfer everything into the living room before I call everyone. " Is Christmas here already? " Bruce jokes.
The younger kids squeal at the sight of the presents. " These are for you guys. Your names are on them. Dig in. " I gesture to the presents.
Everyone but the adults opens the presents. In the end, there's still a big pile of boxes for the adults and a lot of wrapping paper. Two rolls full to be exact. " Guys. " I look up at the adults. " Do you not want your presents? I got them just for you. "
" Oh, um, I was just about to open mine Aura. Thank you so so much. " Uncle Thor sits down and starts to open his gifts.
I look at the other adults. " What about you guys? "
" We are too. "
" Yup. "
They all start opening their gifts and I smile proudly of myself.
