I storm into my room angrily and look at the mirror in front of me. My eyes scare me a bit. There are swirls inside the pupils. My hair has a bit of frost on the ends, making it look like there's a light blue hair dye on the tips.
I let out a deep breath. I straighten my posture. I'm not going to give them the feeling of knowing they can affect me. No. I open my door and brush past Nick Fury. " Aura? Is everything alright? "
" Yup. " I force a smile. " Just wonderful. " I walk away and turn down the hall. I wait for him to leave and check to make sure the coast is clear before I head towards my dad's cell.
" Daddy? Are you there? " I ask softly.
" Aura? I thought you were eating with the Avengers? " dad spits the word ' Avengers ' out as if it were poison on his tongue.
" Well, the kids are brats. I don't feel like dealing with all the drama today. " I sit with my back on the glass as we talk. " Daddy, I feel bad. "
" Why? Are you sick? " He asks a little worried.
" No. No. I'm not sick. " We sit in silence for a few moments. " Am I dumb and ugly? "
" What? " Dad says sitting up. " No. You are not dumb or ugly. What are those, those mid-guardians saying to you? You are beautiful darling. You are far smarter than any other child I have ever seen before. "
" Thanks. " I blush a bit. " And, and it's Mia who's being rude to me. Mia and her friends. "
" Well, tell this Mia, to shove it up her-"
" Daddy! " I laugh.
Dad smiles. " Ah. There's that smile I so dearly love. You have the most beautiful smile of all the lands. "
I blush again and sigh. " I want to hug you. Not have this glass separating us from each other. "
" I know. I know my dear. I will get out of here. Someday. And, I'll come to get you. " Dad promises.
" Okay. " I smile happily.
" When you were a baby, you would wake up the whole castle with your crying. " Dad chuckles. " Thor brought what are they called? Oh yes. Earplugs from here as a gift to everyone in the palace. "
" Really? " I ask.
" Yes really. You were so tiny. It was hard to believe you had the lung capacity to scream as you did. " Dad laughs.
" Sorry. That must've been hard. "
" Well, it was worth it. I got back at Thor easily. He'd stay in the room across from yours when he stayed over. I made sure to wait an extra three minutes before I went to get you, that way you had woken him up by the time I came to get you. "
" That's cruel. " I smirk.
Dad smirks as well. " Well, you know me. God of mischief. "
