Something Unusual

The grim expressions of Aurora and Jackie are already shouting out that something bad has happened. "Well... What happened? What..." but before Elijah can complete his sentence, Landry almost jumps up.

"Did Dr. Ramsey already choose you as the team members? Did you two tied in the competition already? It is Unfair! We need a shot at the Diagnostic team too. I'll talk to..." but Aurora rolls her eyes and Jackie throws her arms up in the air which make Landry go silent.

"I wish I were that lucky, Landry but no. I'm not!" and she throws nasty glare in Aurora's direction.

She ignores her "Ramsey has paired us for all the next cases we take up" she sounds mad.

"Exactly! So this is not at all enjoyable" adds Jackie.

Aurora looks away and her tone grows a bit relaxed "Whatever Varma... We are partners now so you better accept it as soon as possible because you and I, both are going nowhere"

Jackie is still shooting death glares at Aurora who simply turns around and leaves.

"That bitch!" curses Jackie as she returns to her spot. Just then we hear the announcement stating that lunch time is finished and all the Doctors should return to their positions.

"Seriously! Fuck me man! Now I don't even get to eat my lunch. This is shit!" but we cannot do anything for her except offering our condolences that she missed lunch.

My paths with my friends don't cross till the end of the shift when we are all in the changing room. There is an awkward silence and no one seems to be willing to break it, not even Bryce. He also changes into his normal clothes as quickly as possible and then gives a small salute to us, then he is gone. Jackie looks mad. I don't know who is she more mad on, me, Aurora or Ramsay.

Back at our apartment, we order pizzas as nobody wants to cook after a tough shift. Jackie grabs two beers from the fridge and goes to her room. The rest of us wait for the pizzas. Landry ordered a small cheese pizza only for himself, so he takes it and retires to his room. Elijah takes a slice from the BBQ one and then one from the Sicilian one "I need to study some files, I'll be in my room. See you guys!" and he leaves too. This leaves me and Sienna... alone.

Not that I mind but there are two large pizzas in front of us and no one to help us finish them.

"Do you think I should go and ask if she wants to eat" I refer to Jackie.

"I think she wants to be left alone but... Maybe you should go after all. If she is acting all pissed then it doesn't means that you ignore her as well and stop caring"

"You know me... I just never stop caring" and our eyes meet. I mean this for her as well. I can never stop caring about her. No matter what happens.

She awkwardly looks away and I take it as a que to leave. I knock on Jackie's door.

No reply.

Once more, a bit louder this time.

No reply.

I wait now... Finally she answers

"What?!"

"Hey, Jackie... Do you need some Pizza. We have BBQ and Sicilian" I say.

"Get lost! I don't need nothing" she shouts. Perfect.

I return to Sienna who is now having some BBQ pizza.
"You heard her right?" I know she did.

She nods and I also begin to eat my pizza.

We put the leftovers (which are quite a lot since none of us managed to eat more than two slices) in the fridge and then she gives me an awkward giggle.
"Uh... Goodnight then, Felix" she says. Is she blushing slightly?
