A lot is on my mind right now. I am working on Dr. Banerji's case, I am also working on other cases that I receive and my mind is also focused on Sienna's date with Danny this Saturday, which happens to be tomorrow.
"Hayley will be alright pretty soon" I tell the eight year old's imaginary friend. Hayley, my patient smiles brightly "See Tony! I will be great very soon and then we'll play in the park together like we used to!". Her enthusiasm is much welcome because she almost kept sleeping the previous two days. This was the cause of worry for both her mother and me but tiredness, fatigue and lethargy is common in Hepatitis A.
Mrs. Young almost went nuts when I told her. When people hear the word 'Hepatitis' they immediately assume the worst but Hepatitis A is not as dangerous as the one usually imagined.
"What could've been the cause?" Mrs. Young had asked me.
"She must've eaten something contaminated with fecal matter. Did she eat out or does she usually eat with dirty hands?"
Mrs. Young though for a moment and then something clicked "She went to a Zoo trip four days ago and said that she had a lot of things to eat... could it be? It was four days ago"
"Four days is enough for the problem to develop. It could be... but she will be fine. We are providing her with all the necessary medicines" and I nodded my head in an understanding manner.
And now, Hayley is much better. She might leave by Sunday along with her imaginary friend Tony who was also sick alongside her and I put (was forced by Hayley because she thought that Tony might die) two injections on his butt, one on the arm and thirteen on his neck. Tony was saved after all.
I am on my way to the lab to get Hayley's latest reports when someone runs into me. "Shit!" I exclaim and catch the slim figure before they fall.
"Are you..." and I recognize the person as Aurora Emery.
"Are you blind or what?!" she shouts at me and all the people in the corridor get focused on us rather than their work. Perfect paint me as a pervert now!
"You bumped into me Dr. Emery" I reply as I quickly step away from her.
Aurora looks very angry... like very angry.
It is kind of scaring me a bit... She grunts and marches away without another word. Wow! Much less damage than I had imagined.
The cabin she just barged out of is of her very own Aunt's. Wonder what that was all about?
At lunch I share what I saw with my friends group. They don't have any better explanation than I did. In fact Jackie completely avoids the topic "Can we talk about anything but her" she complains.
"Yeah, let's talk about Sienna's date with Danny" She suggests after a few moments.
"I didn't know you broke up with Wayne" says a surprised Landry.
Sienna covers her eyes with her petite hands and her face falls "It is not a date guys!"
I hope it doesn't turn out to be one...
"Oh, yes it is! Don't lie. I have seen the way you two look at each other. You are crazily in love" teases Jackie.
God! How much it hurts to hear that.
"We are not in love. I only love Wayne and this is just three friends going out" she says and I think I have heard wrong.
"Did I hear three?" Elijah asks the question which I was about to ask.
"Yes, three. Me, Danny and Felix. Right Felix?" she looks at me hopefully.
And what am I supposed to say here? This was not planned. I was not asked! But it is not like I would say no... but I should.
