Thinking Again

Her hand lets go of mine when we stand at the threshold of her room. She is smiling and there is a certain glow on her face right now that I hardly saw in the past few weeks.

"Goodnight Felix, I'll sleep quite peacefully tonight" and she puts her hands around my neck.

Oh My God! My breath is stuck in my lungs!

She stands on her toes slightly and her lips touch my cheek.

Well... I am feeling those butterflies again. I was expecting a kiss on... but I am grateful for this as well. She leans back and waves me goodbye. I nod slightly in return.

I have merely three hours for sleeping so I take my shoes off and fall on the bed without even thinking of changing into my PJs.

"Varma! Ward 12 right now" Aurora calls out to Jackie as soon as we enter the Hospital. Jackie curses her under her breath.

"Sure, partner" she gives a fake smile to Aurora who gives an equally fake smile in return.

"See you guys later" Jackie says almost normally, like she used to before we had our tiff but then her eyes fall on me and she realises that she wasn't supposed to act normally. She raises an eyebrow, I don't know at me or at herself and then walks away.

Upon entering Edenbrook the mystery of Patient X is also revived in my brain. Who could this patient be? At the reception desk, Danny stands talking to a nurse. He passes me a brilliant smile as he sees me.

Hmmm... the reception's computer may have some information on this 'Patient X'.

"Danny, I need to use the computer for a moment" the nurse standing beside him, looks at me very suspiciously.

"I'll help Dr. Alexander, Rhea. You may go" and the nurse walks away.

"Dr. Alexander, I am not allowed to show you the files of any patient but yours until you have permission from a resident" Danny replies after I tell him that I need to see a patient's file.

"Danny, please. I'll owe you one if you help me with this" I say. My curiosity will kill me. I have no business related to Patient X but Ethan Ramsay is handling the case and he is keeping this Patient's identity a secret. My nosy ass self cannot help but be intrigued.

"A-Alright but I'll need something in return" he says.

"I'll do what you want me to" I reply.

O...kay

"You do your work now but be quick" he quickly steps away and lets me use the computer.

"Sorry but can you look..." and he understands that I don't want him peeking and turns his head away.

I quickly type 'Patient X' in search bar.

Nothing!

I retype it but the search result is still the same. I quickly delete the searched word in the history. Obviously I don't want to spill Dr. Ramsay's secret. This was a useless attempt and now I owe Danny a favour as well.

"Thanks man! I am grateful" and just when I am about to walk off he calls me

"Wait, Felix!"

I stop and turn around "Yes?" What is it?

"About that favour you owe me..." he is not looking directly at me. What the fuck does he want from me?

"I-I really want to take Sienna out on a date. Can you please convince her to go out with me" he is blushing.
