"So you don't know what is wrong with him?" I conclude after hearing all that Dr. Ethan Ramsey has to say.

He absently scratches the sides of his Coffee mug with his thumbnails and agrees with me.

"I did all the tests known to man and still can't get a grip on what is wrong with Naveen" disappointment dripping from every word of his.

The careless unshaved face, the baggy eyes and the uncombed hair... though he rocks the look, I feel sincerely sorry for him. And on the stupid side note, I have no idea that how a man can look handsome like this all the damn time. He and Sienna always amaze me with their natural beauty on all occasions!

"One thing... Just once did that man need me and I failed him" he places his right hand over his eyes and breathes heavily.

"Not every thing is in our hands, Sir" I make a weak attempt at soothing him but he just finishes off the remains of his coffee and looks back at me sternly.

"You are not allowed to reveal any of this to any other doctor in Edenbrook or even out of here. Naveen has himself forbidden it. Rookie, I am barely keeping him here. If more people begin paying him visits, he will definitely leave. Even now he is trying to find excuses to leave and every day I have to make him stay for someone's sake"

I would honestly call it Dr. Banerji's stupidity. Maybe sharing his case with other Doctors can result in a cure but with what I have heard... Dr. Banerji has given up all hope and wants to accept death. Me or Dr. Ramsey are certainly not thinking like him, if there is even the slimmest of chance to save him then we'd try our luck with it.

"At least let me help you, Sir. I will involve no one else. Just me" I say.

Ramsey looks at the contents of his desk "You don't have to get involved"

"But I do Sir. I may have not spent much time with Dr. Banerji but he is still a mentor to me like he is to you. So I deserve a chance to help you especially after knowing about his condition" I think I make some fair points.

Seen very rarely, Dr. Ramsey is not in the mood of an argument and so he accepts "Just you and nobody else. Naveen will kill me if more people get involved" and so I promise him.

"May I take his medical reports home so that I can study them" I ask. Ramsay's lips part but no words come out. He quietly stands up and goes to his shelf from where he plucks out two gray coloured files. He places them in front of me.

"These are copies of the records, I made them as a backup" and he sits back on his chair on the opposite side of the desk.

I pick up the files "We're not giving up on him even if he has given up on himself..."

Ramsey gives no reply but his eyes glimmer with a new hope that wasn't there before "And Rookie! I know that you share the apartment with some of your co-workers, I just want to be assured that none of them will have a peek at these". He sounds very serious about this but he honestly does not needs to be because none of my friends ever visit my room.

"Rest assured Sir! Will I see Dr. Banerji tomorrow?"

"Yes, yes you will. He is resting... or at least supposed to be resting at the moment. I will take you to him tomorrow" replies Ramsey.

I nod gratefully and exit his office. Just when I have closed the door, a familiar figure comes running towards me.

It is Landry Olsen.

"What were you doing inside Dr. Ramsey's cabin?" he basically enquires me.

"Work, I had to discuss a case with him"
