One day Reine saw something on the news. It was the Maniax, they had caused a massacre at the GCPD. The boss of the Maniax was no other than Jerome Valeska. When Reine saw him her jaw almost dropped. As much as she was already aware of the escaped inmates, she was unaware of this group they had formed. The whole, getting used to being out of Arkham, had taken her mind off her past lover of sorts.
"Selina, what do you know about this Maniax group?"
"Nothing much, they're a bunch of loonies. Why?"
"I just never heard of them."
"Do you live under a rock or something? They literally have been all over the news these days." She threw Reine a newspaper that talked about the Maniax.
"Yeah, well when I was younger they never let me watch tv or play with toys or anything like that. So I guess I've lived under a rock for almost all my life. Until, now."
"No wonder you ran away."
"Hey, I'm gonna be pretty busy these couple of days, just fair warning."
"Really with what?"
"I just want to learn how to be by myself. You know, so that way I won't be holding your hand all the time."
"Fine just don't get yourself get killed."
Reine knew she didn't really need Selina, she never had. She just didn't want to be lonely. She had grown to enjoy the company of that catty girl. She kinda felt bad for keeping these secrets from her. She worried that if she were to tell her the truth she would send her away.
Reine would go out and look for this Maniax group. She'd look all over Gotham, sneaking, flirting, or lying her way into places. Sadly it wasn't really going anywhere. She didn't really know why she was trying so hard to find him. It wasn't like her to be so fixated on someone. She also wondered if he'd tried looking for her or if he thought of her at all.
She didn't like that she thought about him so much, that her mind was filled with so much with him, never leaving. She'd rather concentrate on being out of Arkham, being free and having fun. She loved being out of there and all the stuff the city had to offer. Then again if it wasn't for him, she would have never left Arkham, she would've rot in there with her sisters.
And then there's her sisters, oh her sisters. She'd worry for them at times, she worried so much. They weren't built like she was. She'd worry the inmates would try something since she wasn't there anymore. She knew they'd never want to leave that place and the whole safety they had in it. Sadly there's a problem since even though she hadn't been out for that long she already decided on never going back. She got a taste of freedom and she wasn't letting it go. Even if it means she'll never see her sisters again.
