Life's been going well for Reine. She'd go out, sometimes to clubs or places of the sort, get drunk or high. She'd sing at some places, it would bring a little more cash. Her life was full of adventure and fun, and she loved it.
She'd also loved hanging out with Selina. They were still close, if not closer.

They were both taking a nap when they heard a loud knock at their door. Cat grabbed a knife while Reine grabbed the gun. Cat checked who was at the door through the peephole, then she put away her knife and opened the door. It was a big guy in a suit, apparently, he worked for the Penguin. Reine still had no idea what Cat was talking about just that she didn't have to kill him.

"Nice place. Who's this?"

"None of your business dickhead.", Reine told him.

"What do you want?", Cat asked him.

"I need you to take me to the Pike brothers."

"The firebugs from the Narrows? I used to hang with their sister, Bridgit when I was a kid. Why do you need me to take you?"

"To vouch for me. The Pikes are the best arsonists in town, but they're also Fish loyalists. The idiots think she's comin' back someday."

"She might come back."

"I was there darlin."

"She might."

"Whatever. The Pikes hate me and Penguin for obvious reason, but everyone knows Fish loved you."

"They do?"

"Your face will open doors, babe."

"Six hundred."

"Three fifty."

"Fine."

"I'll come too. Got nothing better to do anyways.", Reine said before following the out.

"Just let me do the talking.", the guy said as they walked to the Pike's apartment," You just smile and make like we're friends."

"Friends? That's a hundred extra."

"We usually punch our friends in the face."

"So everybody knows she loved me?"

"That's what they say. She loved me too, once. And I loved her."

"Then you shot her."

"I mean if that doesn't mean love then I don't know what does."

"It was complicated."

"Got that right."

We arrived at the apartment door and knocked. A girl answered the door.

"Hi, Bridgit."

Bridgit opened the door wide.

"Hey, Selina. It's been a while."

"Me and my pet gorilla are here on business, I also brought Reine with me. Your brothers home?"

She looked behind her, then started nodding.

"Yeah.", she said as they walked in.

Reine stayed a bit behind them.

"I'm actually here because I wanted to see if you were as beautiful as you sound. I will say, I'm not disappointed."

Reine's comment made Brigit's cheeks flush.
Reine went to catch up with Cat.

"What are you doing with this rat, Selina?", one of the Pike brothers asked.

"He's okay. I vouch for him."

"What do you mean 'okay'? The bastard shot Fish."

"It was complicated. He loves her, just like you do."

"And if she ever comes back-"

"When she comes back."

"When she does, he will be right by her side."

"If she comes back? Sure. But she-"

"But for right now, he got a nice job for you guys. Business is business, right?"

"Hey, bygones, huh? We need the best, and you guys are the best."

They all pull out guns when the big guy reaches for his pocket.

"Oh, easy.", he pulls out a piece of paper, raising his hands up and gently handing over.

One of the Pike brothers reads it, then lets out a whistle.

"That's a lot of work."

"It's a lot of pay. You up for it?"

"For sure."

"We'll need more gear. I'll hit the Merc and stock up."

"We've got enough gear to burn down Gotham twice."

"There's always room for more napalm."

Brigit opens the fridge and grabs a couple of beers. She hands them out, when she turns back she's kicked in the leg.

"Hey, sis. What are you? A slob? We have company. What do we do when we have company."

"We get them the glass."

"Ding, ding, ding. Go and do it."

She gets two glass cups and hands them.

"Thank you, Bridgit."

Bridgit walks away. Reine follows after her, she could feel their eyes on her ass. Cat followed after her.
Reine finds Bridgit sitting and crying.

"Hey, don't cry. Those guys are assholes. They don't deserve your tears."

"I'm not crying." Bridgit quickly goes to wipe away her tears.

"Hey.", Cat says as she joins them.

"Hey."

"Looks like rain.", Cat says trying to make conversation.

"Yeah, it does."

"I don't mind it. Cleans the streets, anyhow."

"That's true."

"I actually love the rain, it's nice feeling it."

"Anyway, um, take care of yourself, Bridgit. Be strong."

Cat starts walking away.

"You coming?", she asks Reine.

"I'll catch up."

Cat just rolls her eye before leaving.

"I should go.", Brigit says standing up.

Reine stops her before she can walk away.

"Look I know how it is, being treated like that. No one deserves to be treated that way. You need a break from this. How about you and I eye grab a beer or something like that sometime? I promise it'll have fun."

"They'd never let me do that."

"I bet you that I can change that. A kiss."

"What?"

"If I get your brother's to agree to let me take you out for one night, I get a kiss."

"I don't-"

"Come on. Look, if you're not comfortable with it, then it can be a simple kiss on the cheek."

"I guess-"

"Great, see you then, love."
