what is love? - chaelisa

we all know how easy it is to fall in love. or to be in love, rather. those are the times everything just kicks in. you're willing to do anything just for that person's happiness. because you're happy just as long as they are too. you feel like a feather, floating on air. or maybe a sailboat, just wandering around the vast ocean or the calmest sea.

but there are moments where... it's different. being in love suddenly hits you like a train until you can't even help yourself up again. then the realization of success creeps into your brain. your future as a person and not as a couple. how about you? is this enough?

sure, you made a home out of each other, but is that home ready for the rest?

your career, your wealth, food to keep you healthy, how would you be able to get all of that when your head is stuck in a gutter full of i'll never leave you's and i want to spend the rest of my life with you?

that's what happened to our two lovebirds. the teenage sweethearts– chaeyoung and lisa.

their relationship started off cute and fun. at sixteen-years-old, you usually have no idea what's serious and what's not. they always joked around about their future, not really paying attention to any of it. they laughed about moving in with each other and the other cooking for another and all the sweet things you talk about when you're around that age.

then again, if you think ahout it, it's all just our childish imaginations, wanting to fulfill something that our dreams are made of.

"are you coming?" lisa chuckles, turning back to see her loving bestfriend, trying to catch up to her long strides.

chaeyoung reaches the top of the staircase and bends down, her hands on her knees, catching her breath, "you didn't inform me about the 200-steps we had to jog on." she says in between panting.

"correction: it was 150."

the australian just glares at her, making lisa laugh once again.

"okay, okay. just take a look," lisa takes chaeyoung's hand and walks her to the edge of the cliff.

"lisa i'm not gonna stare at the view just because you–"

chaeyoung lets go from their hand holding and stands straight. she stares at the horizon, the night sky filled with stars sparkling with life and emotion. the constellations speaking a million things and the infinite anount of space present just within their reach.

"look at that," she says, raising her hand to connect the stars. she manages to find the Big Dipper and the Small Dipper just below it. "that's so cool,"

they stayed there 'til the clock striked twelve. with chaeyoung still mesmerized and in awe of all the stars she saw, she asked, "isn't it beautiful?"

lisa smiled at her, not even looking up to see what the girl was pertaining to and answered, "it is."

lisa's heart spoke for itself that night. it knew what it wanted. and lisa knew it too.

that was the night she fell in love with her bestfriend.

seeing her smile like that just because of what the universe presented before them was what made it all clear for her. and eversince that night, all lisa wants is to see that smile every night and every day.
