part 1/3 😚

--

"i'm so nervous, i don't know what to do," i've been pacing around the hotel room for quite a while then. my hands were tangled in my hair and sometimes on my waist. ive frantically checked every corner and every inch of the room and for some reason i've turned into an OCD maniac.

lisa walked into the room, her phone in her hand and airpods plugged into her ears, "i don't know what to do with yOU~ YEAAAH HEYYEY"

"Jesus! ya!! lalisa!!" i jumped and clenched my chest. she looked at me in question, removing the airpods she had on, "what?"

"why are you singing our song?"

lisa shrugged and raised an eyebrow, "to practice for later?"

i darted at her in disbelief. how was she all calm? and there i was panicking about what to say and what to do and what to perform and what to wear and what to–

"relax, chaengie," she walked up to me and placed her phone down. she placed her hands on my shoulders and rubs them slowly. our eyes were connected, i lingered down a few times to look at her lips and fortunately, she did the same thing, "it's gonna be okay, i swear."

i shook my head, "what if people don't show up? what if they don't sing along? what if i trip and fall on my face? what if–"

"hey hey hey," she cuts me off with a stroke to my cheek and a kiss on the lips, i melted right away and took in a deep breath, "it's okay if people don't show up. it's okay if there aren't a lot of people either, atleast some went for us and us only, and that's what's important." i nodded, sniffing as i felt tears forming around my eyes.

"and singing along isn't a big deal, we're in america, rosie, of course they don't know what we're saying. half of the time i don't even know what we're saying. our true blinks who are in the crowd will sing along and that's what i'm sure of,"

i nodded once again, a smile slowly inching up my face. lisa always knew what to say. she may joke around and act stupid at times, but i know that she always had a soft spot for advicing people on what to do or guiding them through a tough time. that's why i don't forget to give her back the favor.

"and you won't trip and fall, okay? i'll be there to catch you no matter how far you are from me." she winked and booped my nose with hers. i scrunched mine and giggle, "you're so good at these things," i told her and pulled her in for a hug.

"it's just because i love you," she answered, as she nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck. i felt the butterflies in my stomach, swirling around as she placed small kisses, up and down. she never failed making me all flustered and happy because of her cheesy sayings. they were cheesy, but one thing you should know is that i love cheese. so it was perfect.

"and i love you more, poopsie."

--

"COACHELLA!!!" i scream into the mic as the crowd roars. all i could see were heads. up until the very end. well, what i assumed was the end because there wasn't an end. all these people were here to see us? just us, right? i look to the far right, more people, jumping up and down. to my left, yes, still more people.

the feeling was amazing. i wasnt nervous. the moment i heard the yells and the screams, it was like my nerves all faded away, i was having the time of my life and the members did too.

"lisa!" i call her name as my voice echos out the speakers. the crowd wilds, at the mention of the most followed kpop girl, who is coincidentally my bestfriend and my girlfriend, all in one, "what do you feel?"

she looks at me, a tiny glint in her eye. she's nervous. she was always nervous and scared talking in english, saying she isn't good or that she only speaks little when in fact she's actually really fluent. when we're alone we talk in english casually. she describes better in english but in interviews she stutters and sticks to korean that's why she's so silent.

"it's okay," i tell her, reassuring that i was right there to help her with everything.

"amazing!" she squeals into the mic sending everyone into hysterics because of her tiny voice. she speaks more and her voice slowly falters lower and lower, and it makes her extremely hot as i can mention, "so hyped up about all of this, really."

i tell the crowd that we are so so hyped up about everything and go on with asking the unnies about how they feel. i think this is how the online blinks and other witnesses said i was the leader when it comes to being in the united states.

our performance stage goes on for a bit more until the last beat of as if it's your last plays. we go into a line and connect hands, "thank you coachella!" i say as everyone claps. i call in for lisa as she holds my hand. we raise our arms and back down to bow. it was one heck of a night.

--

"i can't believe it!!!" all four of us were now back at the hotel. jisoo and jennie were sitting down at the couch and i was sitting on lisa's thighs.

her arms were wrapped around my waist, holding me close to her. we do this all the time that i can't even remember the last time i sat on a chair if lisa and i were in the same room together.

"i didnt expect there would be ppyong bongs in the air! that made me so happy!!" jennie says, giving us all a gummy smile. we love seeing her happy, since it's rare nowadays considering all the hate towards her. all the rumors, all the pictures, the sayings, the drama. people dont know how much those things affects us, idols. just because we're idols doesnt mean we dont get hurt. we're human too. we have feelings. people need to understand that.

"jisoo unnie," i call her name as she looks at me in question, "you did great with your english today, i bet they couldnt even tell. maybe they even thought you're fluent."

jisoo smiles at me, she's always flattered when someone comments about them liking her english. she's insecure about it since she got judged about being the member who doesnt speak the language.

"so amazing," she says, scrunches her nose giving us a thumbs up. we all laugh at her cuteness as i then look to lisa.

"you okay?" i ask her, noticing she hasnt been talking since we got off stage. but she was smiling and jumping around, just not talking.

lisa nods at me and blinks lovingly. she's just speechless.

"you did great today," i tell her closing my eyes, pulling her into a hug. i place my head ontop of hers as she tightens her grip around my body, "i'm so proud of you."

the unnies were talking more about what happened, engaging into a deep conversation. their voices were faded eventhough they were right beside us. all i could head and feel was lisa.

"chaeyoung?" she mumbles into my sweatshirt and i answer in a hum, "i love you." her voice cracked and i pulled away from our hug. her eyes were wet with tears and i felt a pang to my chest.

"why are you crying?" i question, also now on the verge of tears.

she shakes her head slowly, and pulls me back into her body. i just close my eyes and hug her back, playing with the tiny hairs on the back of her neck. she loves it when i do this.

she never answers my question but i didnt really want one in all honesty. we were better off like that. in our own space, our own world. trapped within ourselves. no questions to be asked and no answers to be given.

we're happy with that.

and that's all that matters.
