Oblivious (Part 1)

In which Corbyn is a 17 year old who is looking for his mate and has to be mated to them before his 18th birthday. But what happens when he mistakes another person for his soulmate. Will it be too late before he finds out who his real soulmate is or will he suffer the consequences of not being mated at 18?. Read on to find out.

Corbyn's POV:-
I was officially turning 18 in two months and I had to find my mate soon or I would die without them.I know I say them but that is because I'm bisexual so it can be both. I hope whoever they are they will be nice enough. I actually have dreamed a lot about my soulmate and looking at my parents in love I wanted nothing more than to find my soulmate soon. But as the days passed I felt scared. I kept thinking what if my soulmate doesn't like me? What if they don't want to be my soulmate what if they didn't want a soulmate or worse what if they didn't want me as their soulmate... I shook the thoughts out of my head and got up from my bed where I had been lying thinking all this time. I went down the stairs to get breakfast. I poured myself a bowl of chocolate pebbles and milk and sat down to eat it when I heard the front door open. I looked up to see my best friend Jack come in the kitchen.
He smiled at me"Slept late? We have only 15 minutes to get to school".
I looked at the clock above the stove. Shit. It was 7:30. I had two minutes to get ready before we had to leave. I quickly gobbled up my breakfast and ran upstairs. As I changed I heard Jack laughing downstairs. He was probably talking to my mum. I smiled to myself and went down the stairs to see him talking to my sister. I felt a pang of jealousy, Yes I had a crush on my best friend, but shook it off. Besides Jack was straight as a ruler so he couldn't be my soulmate anyway. I couldn't get jealous. I grabbed my backpack and books and called out to Jack.
"Let's go"
He looked up at me, nodded at my sister and went out of the door after grabbing his own backpack. I went out of the door after him and got in the driver seat.
~Time skip~
We arrived at school just about 5 minutes before the bell rang. I told Jack I had to get some books and I'd meet him in class. I rushed to my locker and started to get my books out replacing them with books I had brought from home. I suddenly felt a presence near me. I quickly closed my locker only to see the biggest flirt and the most popular girl in school standing beside my locker.
She looked at me and smirked."I heard you're turning eighteen next month."
"Actually the month after that", I replied impatiently and rolled my eyes.I jut wanted to get to class and this bitch was blocking my way.
She smirked at me again and said, " You're looking for your soulmate right? "
My eyes widened"How did you..?"
She cut me off "I have my ways",she said then walked away.
I looked at her retreating figure thoughts going through my head. How did he know? Why did she talk to me today after all those years? What was she up to?
I was pulled out of my thoughts by the ringing of the bell. I picked up my backpack and hurried to class.
~Time skip~
•Lunch time•
At lunch I sat at my usual table with six of my best friends. Jack, Christina, Zach and Daniel, who were dating, Eben and Jonah, who were also dating.
As we ate our lunch and talked about our day, I felt Jack elbow me. I looked up at him and he nodded towards my front. I turned around to see London standing there. I rolled my eyes.
"Corbyn. Can I sit with you guys?", She asked with a smirk.
"Sure", replied Jack before I could process what she said.
I glared at him and he just laughed lightly.
She sat down beside me and smirked at me again. I looked back at her. What is wrong with this girl?
I ate my lunch glaring at it the whole time.
After lunch we went to our respective classes. I had one with Jack and Dani. As we made our way to our class, I could feel someone's eyes on me. I looked up to see London staring back at me. What the hell is wrong with this girl? I shook it off and made my way to class trailing behind Jack and Dani.
"You okay?", Jack said turning around to face me.
"I'm fine", I replied.
He looked at me for a second like he knew I was lying then just started walking again, leaving me to my thoughts.
~Another Time Skip~(Sorry for another time skip. There are multiple parts to this story so I HAD to cut it short).
•A few days later •
I made my way towards my locker when I suddenly saw London coming towards me. I sighed. She had been following me everyday for the past week and I was getting tired of it.
"What do you want now London? ", I said sighing once again.
She looked at me and exclaimed " You know why I have been following you for the past week Corbyn? "
I shrugged. I had no fucking idea.
"Because I'M your soulmate.", she replied.
I stood their shocked for a second before I regained my consciousness and said to her.
"No way. You can't be. How do I know you're not lying. You could be wrong. I mean How do you know I'M your soulmate? "
"I KNOW. Because you ARE my soulmate".
I still didn't believe her.
She sighed. "Okay. Let's try this. How about you kiss me? You'll know right away won't you?"
I shrugged. A little kiss doesn't hurt anybody.
"Fine", I said and started to lean in. As our lips met I felt sparks but the feeling was... DIFFERENT. I had kissed only two or three people in my life but the difference was way too obvious. Could it be? Was she REALLY my soulmate? I couldn't believe it. I finally found my soulmate and... I was HAPPY.
