Surprise

Jarbyn one shots... In which Corbyn surprises Jack by coming home early on his birthday.

Jack's POV:- Jack sighed as he lay down on his bed. It was his birthday tomorrow and his boyfriend wasn't going to be there to celebrate it with him. He sighed once more turning on his side towards his dressing table and picked up his phone. He decided to text Corbyn. He missed him. It had been a week since Corbyn had gone to visit his family in California and the younger boy just wanted him to come back home. He knew it was selfish of him but he couldn't help it. He missed the blonde too much. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't hear the front door open and his best friend Zach Herron enter his room.
"Hey dude", Zach said. " You REALLY need to start going out again. You've gone pale from the lack of sunlight ".
Jack was startled for a minute before he turned his head to the door where his best friend was standing and sighed
" I don't wanna", he said shifting on the bed. "I miss him too much".
"I know you do", his best friend softly. " But he will be back soon".
"Yeah. But it still hurts", Jack said sighing again. Zach sighed.
" Jack. Stop being dramatic. Get your ass out of bed and come outside with me. You should really get some fresh air ", he said rolling his eyes.
Jack sighed again. "Not now Zach".
" Jack Robert Avery. You better get your ass out of that bed before I have no other choice but to PULL you out of it. You've been at home since he left. Get yourself together and enjoy yourself. "
After another five minutes of arguing Jack finally gave in and sighed getting up. Zach was right. He should start going out more. It was STILL a week left before Corbyn came back and he needed to be ready for him. He honestly looked like shit. So he agreed and got dressed following Zach out of the door.
"So. Where are we going exactly?", he asked his best friend as soon as they got in the car.
" Dani's house.", Zach replied.
"Okay", Jack said shrugging. He didn't need to know what they were gonna do there. He pretty much had the idea.
They arrived at Dani's house ten minutes later. He didn't live that far from Jack's house. It would've taken them not more than twenty minutes if they had come on foot.
Jack got out of the car and slowly followed Zach to the front door.
He honestly didn't want to be here. And he only agreed because Zach said it would distract him a bit from missing Corbyn too much which was complete and utter bullshit of course. But he agreed anyways.
" It better be good Zach or I'm seriously gonna kill you", he said to his best friend his tone making it clear that he wasn't kidding.
"Pfft. You don't have the guts.", Zach said laughing. " Plus trust me it'll be fun. Now come on".
"Okay. Let's go", Jack said laughing and made his way inside the house.
Just then his phone pinged meaning he had gotten a text. He whipped it out of his Jean's pocket hoping to see a text from Corbyn. But all it said was that his data was on.
Jack sighed as he shut his phone. He REALLY missed Corbyn. He assumed the blonde was busy and hadn't seen his text. So he hadn't replied. He sighed again and followed his best friend to the living room. It was gonna be a long day.
~Two hours later~
Jack laughed as he watched his best friend trying to convince his other best friend to watch another movie with him. He smiled as he saw them playfully flirt with each other. The lavender haired boy knew that the two of them had been crushing on each other for a while now.
He looked at the time. Holy SHIT. It was nearly 8. He needed to go home. He had an assignment to finish. It was due tomorrow.
He quickly got up and made his way towards Zach and Dani.
"Hey guys", he said. " Zach? I need you to drive me back home"
"Why dude?", the brunette asked confused.
Jack rolled his eyes. "I have an assignment to finish and I need to go home. Can you just drop me off?"
"Yeah. Sure", Zach said shrugging and got up.
" Bye Dani ", Jack said " See you later".
"Wait.", Daniel said. " Would you like to come to a party tonight? I'm hosting. It's at my house. "
"Uhh. Sure", Jack said." If I'm done with my assignment on time".
"Cool", Daniel said. " See you then dude".
"Yeah", Jack said. " See you later".
He made his way out the door and into Zach's car.
Zach drove him home and went back to Daniel's house.
He sighed and climbed the stairs to his bedroom opening the door and collapsing on the bed.
He took out his phone to see if there had been any reply from Corbyn. None.
Jack furrowed his eyebrows. It wasn't like the blonde boy to not message him back. Usually it would take the older not more than an hour to reply. But it had been three hours now.
He decided to CALL his boyfriend to see what was wrong. But he didn't pick up.
Jack was now starting to get REALLY worried. If Corbyn didn't text him back he would ALWAYS pick up his call. He looked at the time. It was almost 9. So it was 11 where Corbyn was. So it wasn't THAT late.
He decided to call Dani to see if he knew anything. After two rings he picked up.
"Hey J", his voice came from the other side. " What's up bro?"
"Hey Dani", he replied "Umm..Did Corbyn tell you if he would be busy today or anything?"
"No", Daniel replied sounding confused." Why?"
"Well. I messaged him like 3 hours ago but he never messaged back", he said with a sigh. " And I called him just now but he didn't pick up".
"Hey.", Dani said his voice now soft." Maybe he's just busy and hasn't seen your text. You know he silences his phone when he's busy ".
" Yeah ", Jack said running his finger through his hair. " You're probably right".
"I'm ALWAYS right", Daniel said laughing.
" Thanks Dani ", Jack said smiling.
" Anytime ", came the reply." You ARE coming to the party tonight? Right? "
"Yeah", Jack said sighing again. " I think I'll be done by then. When is it again?"
"11", Dani said.
"Okay. I'll be there"
"Okay. Bye"
"Bye", he said hanging up.
He threw his phone on his bed sighing. There was still two hours left until the party. He made his way to his desk and pulled out his notebook. He NEEDED to finish his assignment.
~One and a half hour later~
He was FINALLY done with his assignment. He sighed. His teacher was trying to kill him with so much work.
He got up from his desk and grabbed his phone deciding to text Corbyn once more. After sending him a text, he sent one to Daniel and Zach saying he'd be at the party in 20.
He quickly got ready throwing on a shirt and one of Corbyn's hoodies on that he left behind and a pair of khakis. He sprayed a bit of his own cologne on himself that Corbyn really liked.
He grabbed his phone and made his way out of his room, down the stairs and into the awaiting Uber.
He arrived at the Dani's house 15 minutes later, paid for the Uber, giving the driver a tip and got out of the car. He went to the front door and knocked on the door. He had already texted both Daniel and Zach that he was on his way, so they should be expecting him. He heard noises from inside. Clearly the party had started.
Suddenly the door opened and Dani stood there smiling. " Welcome Birthday boy", he said.
"Thanks", he said rolling his eyes." But technically it isn't my birthday until an hour".
"Oh Shush", Daniel said grinning." Are you just gonna stand there or maybe come in?".
"Oh yeah", Jack said smiling back.
He entered the house and saw that it had been decorated with blue and white ribbons all around, even the fire place had a bunch of confetti on top of it. He grinned at Daniel.
" You know you didn't have to", he said to him.
"I know", Daniel says grinning back" But I wanted to ".
"Hmm.", Jack said" Hey? Where's Zach?"
Daniel shrugged "I don't know. He said he was going to get himself a drink just before you came".
" Okay ", he said" Thanks ".
He made his way to where the drinks were and saw Zach drinking a can of soda. His face lift up when he saw Jack, grinning.
" Hey dude", he said "You came?"
"Yeah", Jack says laughing." I did".
~Time skip~ Fourty Five minutes later.
"Okay. Let's go celebrate your birthday, Birthday boy", Zach says grinning at him.
" There's still five minutes left"
"Oh. COME ON", Zach said grabbing his hand and pulling him towards where the cake sat on the clothed table in the middle of the dining room.
"Okay", Zach said as they got near it" You've got to close your eyes".
"No way", Jack replied."I'm not doing that".
"Come on Dude", Zach said.
"Fine", Jack said giving in easily." Let's go".
They made their way to the table. It was two minutes until midnight now.
Jack sighed. He REALLY wished Corbyn was here to celebrate with him. This was the first birthday that he was away from him and he just missed him too much.
The clock struck midnight and Jack made a wish and blew out the candles. As soon as he blew out the candle though he felt warm hands cover his eyes.
"Hi baby", a voice whispered in his ear.
Jack smiled. He would've recognized that voice anywhere. He slowly removed the hands from his eyes and turned around.
" Corbyn ", he says grinning at his boyfriend." When did you come here?"
"Oh. Two hours ago", the blonde said smiling and pulled his boyfriend closer.
Jack just smiled leaning into him.
" I'm SO glad you're here ", he whispered to his boyfriend.
" Well. I sure hope you would ", the taller says laughing and pulling him closer. " Because I traveled more than a hundred miles to be here with you tonight".
Jack rolled his eyes. "Just kiss me you idiot", he said grinning at his boyfriend.
Corbyn laughed before pressing his lips softly to the younger's in a passionate kiss. He pulled away after a few seconds and saw everyone looking at the couple.
Jack blushed." Maybe we should uh. Go somewhere else".
His boyfriend nodded. "Yeah. Let's go".
They decided to go to Daniel's guest room. On their way there though, they heard voices coming from Daniel's room. It sounded like him and Zach. Jack wanted to thank them both for giving him the surprise, so they made their way towards his room first.
They gently knocked on the door but heard nothing. Jack silently opened the door and quickly closed it as soon as he saw what was happening inside.
" What happened? ", Corbyn asked.
" Well. I saw Daniel and Zach eating each others faces off and Zach straddling Dani."
"Oh", Corbyn said laughing" Well at least they got together".
"Yeah", Jack said smiling."Let's go. I'll thank them later.
He intertwined his and Corbyn's fingers and started walking towards the guest room. He was extremely happy right now and was REALLY glad his Corbyn had come back to him. He had missed him so much. He smiled again as Corbyn brought their intertwined hands up to his mouth and gently kissed his knuckles. He was so lucky to have him. He loved the blonde so much. It was the BEST birthday present anyone could wish for. The BEST Surprise.
