Piper’s POV
I stayed there standing for another five minutes. Honestly, I’m quite hoping that she’ll say something like.. ‘I want us to be friends again’ or something like that. I know her ever since we were born. She’s kind. Actually, she’s the kindest among us four. And despite her tough attitude now, I know deep down inside, she’s still the same Hailey I got along with. She’s still my friend Hailey. She’s still our Hailey.
“Pipes! Tinatawagan ka ni Tita Ayu!” I immediately went to the living room to take the call.
Before I press the answer button, I went at the front lawn. Para mas tahimik.
“Hello, mom?”
“Piper! Okay lang ba kayo dyan? Kaya niyo ba sarili niyo?”
“We’re grownups na po,” I answered while chuckling.
My mom keeps on talking and talking while I just keep on saying yes and nodding even though I know she won’t see me.
“Anak, may nilagay nga pala ako sa bag mo. ‘Yung book set na binili ko nung nagpunta ako one time sa bookstore. Sabi ni Sab ayan ‘yung matagal ng hinahanap ni Hailey na libro. Pwedeng pakibigay naman sa kanya? Hindi ko na kasi naiabot kasi nakaalis na kami.”
“Okay, Mom. I’ll give it to her. I’ll tell her it’s from you.”
“Thanks, Piper. I’m going to hung up already. Take care. Love you.”
“Have fun!”
Bumalik ako sa living room. Nandoon na ‘yung tatlo. Nag-uusap si Warren at Nate while Hailey is just sitting there quietly. When I entered the room, they look at me, but Hailey’s glaring at me. Have I done something wrong?
“Anong sabi?” Nate asked referring to my mom.
“Nagtanong if we’re okay. I said yes.”
Ah! Baka makalimutan ko. ‘Yung book na pinapabigay kay Hailey.
“Anong gusto mong dinner Hailey?” I heard Nate asked.
“Where’s my room?”
Before I could give the book to her, Nate already showed her to her room. Kaya I decided to sit beside Warren na lang. He nudged me and smiled, “Magiging ayos din tayong lahat. Have faith in our friendship.” I just smiled at him weakly and silently pray na sana tama siya. Na sana maging maayos nga.

“Teka lang. Ano ‘yun?”
“Dito rin ang room ni Piper.”
Nagpanggap na tumatawa si Hailey saka inilipat ang tingin sa amin ni Nate, “Kailan ka pa naging joker? Nagpapatawa ka’di ba?”
Nate shook his head, “Seryoso ako. Dito nga si Piper. Dalawa lang ang guest room namin, Hailey. At ito ang may pinakamalaking kama sa dalawang ‘yun. Single bed lang ‘yung sa kabila.”
It’s already 10 pm and we’re here arguing about our setting. After kasi nung dinner, umakyat na si Hailey sa room kaya naiwan kaming tatlo nila Nate at Warren sa living room talking and playing cards. It’s until then when I realized na nakatambak pa pala ‘yung stuff ko sa living room so I asked Nate where I’ll sleep so I could put my things there.
