A/N:
Thank you so much for your comments. I love how you all have trust issues over the characters. And you all have suspects. I'm more inspired to write now. 🤭🤭

For now, let's meet a new character.

Love you all. 💜💜💜😘😘

******

I arrived at Jimin's best friend's office 10 minutes earlier.

There's a lady sitting beside the door where the plate Office of the Vice President Ken Lee is hanging.

"Hi goodafternoon." I greeted the lady who immediately blushed when she turned her gaze on me.

"Oh my gosh." She blurted out. "Are you Kim Seokjin?"

I smiled. "Yes. I'm looking for Mr. Ken."

"Yes of course. He's waiting for you." I don't know why she keeps on fanning her face with her hands. "You're so handsome. Oh my gosh." She smiled and giggled at me.

You're not my type I'm sorry. I wanted to tell her that. "Thank you." That's all I can say.

She is about to knock at the door when she stops to face me. "Please be careful. Mr. Lee likes men." I'm starting to feel uncomfortable. This lady will not stop from flirting. She pushed her hair at the back of her ear. "I hope you like women better. You know, like me"

I smiled politely. "I'm sorry but I am more attracted to men." I hope by what I just said, she will stop from going so giddy about me.

She looks very much disappointed. Finally, she knocked on the door then pushed it open. "Just get in. In case you changed your mind, I'm just at the 10th floor."

Her giggles are so annoying.

I went inside Ken's office. It is a bit smaller than Taehyung's. Ken, as Jimin fondly calls him, is wearing a gray coat over a black top. He is, well, cute.

"Good afternoon Seokjin." Mr. Lee greeted me. He's all smiles. "Ken." He reached out for a handshake and I gladly took it.

"Good afternoon Mr. Lee."

"You looked nervous Jin." He smiled.

"Oh.. I'm sorry Mr. Lee. This is my first time working and I don't have any work experience yet." Well, better be honest than to lie then work with full of errors. I know Jimin already informed him about that.

"I have no problem with that. You don't need an experience for this job. Are you willing to work for extended hours Jin?" Okay so the interview has started.

" I usually go on into an efficient work schedule, but I am willing to work overtime if you need me to Mr. Lee."

"That's great. I would like to inform you that my previous assistant usually come with me during executive meetings and conventions. Usually happening on weekends and around Korea. I need someone who is very flexible when it comes to working hours and has no problems going out of Seoul."

"I can see no problem with that Mr. Lee."

"Nice. I promise you, I will not stress you out." I'm glad that my boss - wait, am I hired already?

"Mr. Lee, does it mean, I'm hired?" My eyes widened by the thought. I mean, he did not even look at my resume. Well, I assume he already reviewed it? I don't know.

"Why are you so shocked?" He looked rather amused of my reaction.

"I'm sorry Mr. Lee but you haven't seen my resume yet and I'm actually expecting for an interview."

He chuckled. "I know but Jimin will kill me if I will not hire you. He was so persistent. And honestly, I really do think you're the best one I've seen so far. I know you'll be the best in the position."

Best one? You have not interviewed me yet. Is it my looks again? Sometimes, looks can do wonders.

I tried to maintain my calm. But one thing is for sure, I will hug Jimin for giving me this opportunity to work. Jimin knows how much I need this. "Thank you so much Mr. Lee. I appreciate that. I promise you, I will do my best."

He rests his back on the back rest of his chair. "I will ask the human resources to prepare for your contract. It's on the 12th floor. They will explain it to you and hopefully, you will like it and sign it. So..." He took a deep breath. "See you on Monday Jin?"

"Yes Mr. Lee. Thank you so much."

"I don't think I deserve that job Jimin. I mean, he don't even bother to look at my resume or do an intensive interview." I whined. I wanted a job but something I know I worked hard for.

"Can you shut up Jin? I spent a lot of money to feed him and several drunk nights for his alcohol fix so you better do your best." Jimin scolded me.

"So you really bribed him?"

"Jin, Ken offered that job to me but you know that my loyalty remains with boss. When you came here, I remembered that offer. So I called him up. Luckily, it's still vacant." Jimin sighs. "And I believe, no matter how good you are on the interviews and how beautifully written your resume is, what matters is how you do the actual job. So just do your best okay?"

Well, Jimin was right. "I promise Jim." I hugged him. "Thank you so much for helping me out. You know how much I needed this job. I want to have my Taejin back."

Jimin pouts. "Only Taejin? How about the father? You don't have plans to make it up with Taehyung?"

I pursed my lips. I don't know. Our past had been so cruel for both of us. "Jimin, what happened between us was just devastating. Anger, fear, disgust, loss of trust.. all of that. You cannot bring everything back with just a snap of our fingers. He might say that he still loves me but, can he trust me again?"

"Trust is something that needs to be earned. When you trust, you believe that someone will not hurt you but what if they hurt you? Just like with us, he said he loves me but I know that somewhere, if we will bring our relationship back just because he said he loves me, somewhere he will think that I already have the capability to betray and hurt him again."

"You know that feeling of being watched so keenly thinking that I will do something wrong again? That's what's going to happen if we will just kiss and make up that fast."

Jimin went quiet.

"But Jin, how can he build trust again if you will not talk to him. You know, calmly? And spend time with him to build anew? I mean, if he doesn't think that your relationship is worth his time and forgiveness, then, I don't think he will waste his time searching for you. He got his son already, why did he follow you at the bus station? It means he really wanted to find you. Don't you think?"

Perhaps. But I don't know.

"I don't want to rush things Jimin. Better to keep things slow for now. I don't want another failed relationship. Trust is something that is so hard to give again after a betrayal. I want to redeem myself first before thinking about me and Taehyung. That's all I wanted now."
