The Betrayer

"I talked to Jungkook last night. Jin tried to commit suicide. Did he informed you?" I asked Jimin who is currently sitting in front of my desk.

Jimin nods. "I called him last night too. But boss did he informed you that Jin stayed in his apartment?"

I nod. There's a slight pinch of pain in my heart. I really wanted to go and see Jin last night but Taejin also needs me. His nanny is not yet home and just arrived this morning. Nobody will take care of him.

I don't want Jin to be with Jungkook but nothing else I can do. "I have no right to question him Jimin. I know I hurt him so many times. I have no right to feel anything against Jin right now. I respect his decisions and I trust him."

"You want to talk to him tonight boss? He texted me this morning and told me he will come home tonight." Jimin said. I know I used to get jealous over Jimin and Jin's closeness before but right now, Jimin is the only one that I can trust.

"Yes, Jimin. Please. And I don't want anyone to know that I am meeting Jin tonight. Understood?"

Jimin nods.

"So why did you allow Jin to work with Ken?" I am longing to ask this to him.

Jimin scratched the back of his head. "Boss don't get mad at me. I'm just trying to help Jin. He doesn't want to work with you. That is already obvious. He doesn't want to receive any more help from me. My last option for him to survive and stay here in Seoul is to find him a decent job. Don't worry about Ken boss, I already informed him that Jin is yours."

A knock on the door disrupted our talk. It's Namjoon.

"I have to go now, boss," Jimin said as he made his way out of my office.

Namjoon sat down. He placed an envelope in front of me. "You'll be surprised boss on who's been betraying you all this time."

My brows furrowed by Namjoon's news. I'm not expecting to hear something like this today. But I am interested to know what's inside the envelope that he brought.

I take out the pictures from the envelope. My chest heaves by the pictures but I am not surprised at all.

"Jungkook saw Jin at the bus station. You went there with Yoongi while I tried my luck finding him in the port going to Jeju. You did not find Jin at the bus station even you stayed there for four hours only to find out that Jungkook met with him the very same day." Namjoon explained.

The envelope also has a picture of Jin coming out of a clinic, Jin and Jungkook inside a cafeteria and a picture when Jungkook kissed Jin on the forehead. All came from a CCTV camera.

"How did you get all these?" I asked Namjoon.

"The files at the bus station were corrupted or empty. So I thought of looking for cameras where Jin possibly went. And that's what I gathered." Namjoon is serious about his revelations.

"Namjoon, the information that Jin was in Jeju working in a shipping vessel during those times that he's already with Jimin came from you. So who the fuck relayed that wrong information to you?" I asked as I tossed the pictures on my table.

"That's exactly my point boss. Because when I went to Jeju, only one person knows Jin."

"Boss, listen, Jungkook was the last one who saw Jin before he got shot and went missing. Jungkook is the only one possible who brought Jin in the hospital. But then, Jin escaped the next day."

"Second, Jungkook was treating you cold for the past few weeks before you and Yoongi went to Jeju to find him only to go home empty-handed. What if Jungkook already knows where Jin went and hide him from you? Or paid someone in Jeju to hide Jin? And that's the same person I talked to when I went there? Maybe a coincidence but possible, right?"

"Third, when Hoseok told Yoongi that Jin was in the bus station, you, Yoongi, I and Jungkook were having a meeting. You and Yoongi went to the bus station, I went to the port and Jungkook was left at the office. What if Jungkook asked that person to give Jin drugged water? So while you're at the bus station, Jin was right there at the clinic sleeping. And Jungkook went there to personally check if he's okay."

"Boss, it's also possible that Jungkook was the one who asked the hospital to keep all the copies of the CCTV camera. He still has the money from his ex-father and he can pay anyone to keep everything from us from finding out about Jin's whereabouts."

I can't take my eyes off Namjoon. All his revelations about Jungkook makes sense somehow. Planned is the correct term if I will describe it.

"Boss, it's clear. Jungkook wanted Jin for himself. He's betraying you for his own gain. At first, I don't want to believe it but thinking about the situations that happened before, it all fits. Right?"

Namjoon waited for my reaction. I closed my eyes. I honestly do not know what to feel. Right now, all I want is to talk to Seokjin and make everything right for both of us. I want to work for our relationship again.

It has been a painful journey for both of us. I don't want to think about my betrayer right now. Once I am done fixing my relationship Jin, I am sure my betrayer will be buried six feet under. And I am confident about it.
