I think I'm eating like crazy. This is the most decent meal I had in two days. My shoulder stings but my hungry stomach is gnawing.

The old lady has been looking at me so fondly. Maybe she's so amused of the way and how plenty I eat. "What's your name?"

I chew the food in my mouth and swallowed it. "Jin. I'm sorry. I'm just really hungry."

"I can see." The old lady giggled. "I'm Auntie Amy and my husband is Uncle Dan. I hope you don't mind but, what happened to you? You have bruises on your face?"

I know she will ask me about it but I'm not ready to answer them. I don't know if I should be honest with her or just lie. But I already lied too much. To Taehyung, to Jungkook and even giving the hospital a fake name just to conceal my identity.

"My boy.. ex boyfriend did this to me." Though it hurts to admit, I think this old woman deserves the truth. She welcomed a stranger like me in her home.

She shakes her head while she tsk. "Your boyfriend is a violent man. How can he hurt his pregnant boyfriend like that?"

"No auntie. He's not a violent man. He is a good man." How can I tell this to her? "But.. I betrayed his trust. So I think I somehow deserved this."

"Don't you say that. I will not ask what happened because I know that's too personal. But don't be to harsh to yourself." She rubbed my belly. "Not good for the baby."

"Thank you for welcoming me into your home. I really need a place to sleep tonight. I promise, I will leave tomorrow morning." I bowed my head.

"You said you have nowhere else to go. Where will you go if you will leave here? Where are your parents?" She asked. I have nowhere else to go, she's right.

"My parents are both dead." I wish father is already dead. "I'm the only child. I have a relative in Busan but she's too old to be bothered by my personal issues." I looked at Amy. "But auntie, please don't get me wrong. I don't want to bother you as well. It's just that.."

My chest heaves.

"Jin, did you escape from Noori Hospital?" Amy asked. Her face looks more of concerned rather than judgement.

I took a deep breath before nodding. "I'm sorry auntie but I can't tell you why. But one thing I can assure you, I am paid in that hospital. I don't have any debt issues. I'm a good man. I am harmless."

She nods. "It's okay. I can see that you're hiding from someone. Must be from your ex boyfriend. But, I will not force you to say it to me. Just say it when you're ready."

I continue eating while she watch. I know she's doubting but I can't blame her. I am a complete stranger who rode their truck and now, needing a shelter.

"Auntie, I know this is too much but.. I need money." I saw her frown. "Please I will not borrow. I'm willing to work for it. I can help in your farm while I look for a job. I will go back in Seoul soon. I just needed some time to sort things out for my baby."

Why did I say that? Was it too much? I should have not said that. I think I lost her trust.

"But Jinnie,you're pregnant. I don't think it's good for you to work in the farm." I'm glad it's okay with her.

"No, it's okay. I can do it. I can help." I smiled, more of excited.

"How many months is your stomach now Jin?" She asked. She loves rubbing my flat tummy.

"Mmmm.. Honestly, I don't know. Probably 11 weeks. I haven't seen a doctor yet." My poor baby.

"I will accompany you to the community hospital here. They have doctors every weekend. You should have yourself checked." She's too nice.

I bowed again. "Thank you so much."

"Jin, I will allow you here in our home but I don't want any problems. You see, Dan and I are both old. I don't want to have issues." She said it politely but still firm. "You can help us in our farm. I will give you 5 dollars a day so you can also buy something for yourself."

I held her hand. "Oh my gosh auntie. Thank you very much. It means a lot. I promise you, I will not cause you any problems. I'm a good cook. I can cook meals for you."

She laughed. "My grandson is also very hyper. I can't wait for you to meet him He's also very handsome just like you. And he's also very nice."

I just nod. I am actually not interested in meeting anyone right now. "Where is he?"

"He lives in Seoul with his parents. He's studying there." She's so proud of her grandson. Her eyes I will get some of his clothes so you can take a bath and change."

"Thank you auntie."

As I lie down on the sofa in their receiving room, I think of all the mess I left in Seoul.

Things will never be the same from now on. I commit a mistake and now I'm paying for it.

I wish Taehyung has the stone now. He must be really happy.

He's very angry when he threw me out of his home. I'm scared that if he learned that I am pregnant, he will either kill our child or let me give birth before thowing me out.

And that's the least that I wanted to happen. Losing my baby.

I will go back in Seoul one day to settle things there but for now, I want to be away from all the dramas in life. How I wish I can stay away from them forever.
