"Bakit nandito ka na naman, ha, Kevin?" Bungad ni Anie sa'kin.

Ngumiti ako saka dire-diretsong umupo sa sofa at isinandal ang likod sa sandalan nito. Ramdam ko ang titig ni Anie pero nanatili akong nakatingin sa kisame.

"What happened to you this time?" Tanong ni Anie na pumukaw sa'kin.

I smiled at her. "Nothing, I just want to check out on you." Sagot ko.

Pinagkatitigan nya ako na para bang pinag-aaralan ang mukha ko. Then she sighed. "Stop smiling, I know it's fake." Sambit nya saka umupo sa pang-isahang sofa sa gilid ko. "It's Ari, isn't it?" Tanong nya.

I sighed. "I'm so tired, Anie. Matagal ko na syang hinahanap pero parang ayaw nyang magpakita sa'kin. I already used dad and mom's connections to find her but there's always someone blocking our way." Mapakla akong natawa. "I'm so fucked up, I wanna see her so bad."

She sighed. "Wala tayong magagawa, she doesn't want to see you nor talk to you. And you know the reason why."

I chuckled bitterly. "Ganu'n ba kalala ang nagawa ko kaya ayaw nya nang magpakita sa'kin?" Tanong ko habang nakatingin sakanya.

She instantly nodded. "Yes, you don't have to ask me that because you know the answer yourself. Sobrang lala ng ginawa mo kay Ari kaya dapat alam mo na ang mangyayari. I already told you to tell her sooner about what's between you and Andrea and about that whatsoever deal you made with her. But you're such a thick headed jerk for not listening to me." She tsked.

Natawa ako. "You're honesty is painfully brutal."

She shrugged. "Well, truth hurts." Sambit nya. "I know you're tired right now so give yourself a break. You can rest at your brother's room here in my condo." Sabi nya saka tumayo.

"Did I really hurt her that bad?" Wala sa sariling tanong ko.

She faced me. "You didn't just hurt her, Kevin. You broke her, the girl whose in her worst state that night. Alam mo ang nangyari sakanya bago nangyari ang gabing yun. You know how heavy she has in her plate that night, the burden she's carrying. Tapos sinaktan mo pa sya. Alam mo din naman na hindi nya kaya ang ganu'ng klase ng sakit tapos sinabi mo pa---"

"I didn't tell her, Anie, she heard us." Putol ko.

She rolled her eyes. "Whatever, but the fact that you still kept something from her and used her was enough to break her heart---more like, her soul."

"I'm just afraid to lose her.." I whispered.

"But you still did, you should've seen this coming. I mean, keeping something from her? Using her?" She tsked. "Dumbass." Bulong nya.

I chuckled emotionlessly. "I fucking messed up."

"Yeah, you did." She tsked, once again. "Hindi naman kasi 'to mangyayari lahat kung umayaw ka agad sa gusto ng letche mong ex-fiancé eh." Naiiling na aniya.

I let out a loud breath. "I know, Anie, I know." Sagot ko.

She sighed heavily. "Stop with what happened, wala na eh, nangyari na. What you need is rest, you should rest. And give Yana a break, will you? It's been a year, Kevin---"
