We got to Hilltop and immediately demanded to see Dr. Carson. Maggie has been asleep for a couple of days and I've been studying under Dr. Carson. I have done nothing but stay by Maggie's side reading on pregnancies. On the 3rd day, Dr. Carson kicks me out so I go hunting.I already caught 7 squirrels when I hear a bush rustle by me. I freeze barely turning my head to it. Out hops a small brown rabbit. I fling my knife at it and miss it, it scurries away and I growl in frustration. I scour the bush to find my knife. I was crappy with this stupid new knife, it was not my throwing knives. I find it wedged at the bottom of the trunk and I yank it out as memories of being on my learning to hunt flood my mind again. Dear Journal, Daryl would be laughing at how crappy I am at hunting... I shake my head and try to get rid of the lonely feeling I in my gut. I decide to go back to Hilltop. I give the squirrels to the cook and try to make my way to Dr. Carson's place. Out of the corner of my eye, I see it and stop. I turn to stare at their graves, I close my eyes as all the emotions flood me. I shudder and push them down, turning to leave. "Hey, you okay?" Jesus asks catching up to me."Fine." I clip."You know, I haven't seen you go to them since you got here." I turn to look at him. "No need to." I shrug. "Your numbness, it says otherwise." I glare at him. "Just trying to help." He answers his hands in the air. "Maybe, I'm just not ready," I say walking away. I make my way into Dr. Carson's. He nods to me when we hear a stir from Maggie. I smile at her when she turns to me. "Hey, we made it," I tell her. "You're at Hilltop.""Hey, do you remember me?" Dr. Caron asks her. "You've been asleep for a while. "You suffered from the condition abruptio placentae. It's separation from the placenta from the uterus. It's unusual this early but, uh... could be caused by trauma. Possibly the bruises on your abdomen...""Did, I... I... lose... the...""No," I answer taking her hand."The separation was small." Dr. Carson explains. "Baby's heart rate is normal. Here listen." He says and sets up for an ultrasound. "There it is." He says as we hear the steady heartbeat. "So you are going to need to take it easy for a few days," I tell her."You don't want to exacerbate the separation anymore." Dr. Carson explains. "And I think you need to stay here for the duration of your pregnancy." Maggie looks to me and I nod."If anything happens, he can help take care of it," I say. "Do you have any questions?" Dr. Carson asks. Maggie starts to sit up. "Whoa... Whoa, easy, easy, easy." We help her. "Can you say that again?" Maggie asks. "What?" "Everything you just said." She looks between us as we help her understand. Once done I help her get cleaned up and dressed and we go outside to meet with Sasha."You, uh... You okay?" She asks Maggie."Where is he?" Maggie nods. "Where are they both?" We take her to them.

I stand a bit away as the two talk.

"Right, Esme?" I hear and I turn to Sasha.

"Sorry?" I ask."We're staying, for Maggie." Sasha nods to her. I smile and walk to them. I put my hand on Maggie's shoulder."Of course...." I freeze as I see Hershal's and Glenn's pocket watch, my breath hitches."Esme?" Maggie grabs my hand, I look to her and shake my head. "I... I'm f... fine." I stutter out and she pulls me down next to her, I look away."She hasn't been here since we buried them and she won't sleep," Sasha tells her. "Esme..." Maggie tries to get me to look at her. "It's okay to grieve." I shake my head."No... I... Not right now, I made a promise to Glenn and I'm sticking to it. You need to rest and get healthy and I am going to hone my skills and learn. So that I can protect you." "Esme. It's o..." Maggie tries."I said NO!" I growl standing and see Jesus standing by with flowers in his hands. Maggie turns as well."It's nice to see you up." He says finally walking to us when he knows it's safe. "Flowers." Maggie smiles. "It was you." "The ones by your bed too," Sasha tells her. "I read somewhere that blue flowers inspire strength and calming," Jesus explains. "What's green?" Maggie asks. I look down at the graves as he stands back up."Release." He answers and I feel my heart pain, I turn away. "Thank god you're finally awake." Gregory stomps over to us, I roll my eyes and step in front of Maggie. "You people said you got them all." "We thought we did," Maggie says. "It was just an outpost." "How many of them were there?" "There was a lot. Maybe hundreds." "Do you know the deal you made us take, Marsha?" "It's Maggie." Jesus corrects."No." Maggie answers. "And we didn't make you take the deal, Gregory.""I...I... I'm happy we could patch you up." He starts to stutter. "You need to go." He starts to walk away. "Were not going anywhere!" I scoff, he turns."Make sure you let Rich know what we did for you all." He shakes his head at me."Dr. Carson said I should stay." Maggie protests."If he thinks he has the authority to make that decision, he's mistaken." He walks back to us his hands on his hips. We get into an argument about staying and Jesus is then kicked out of the Hilltop. I argue back but Maggie stops Sasha and I.
