Chapter 34

The word 'Witch' echoed around the walls of her brain as she froze like the ice cream in her hand.

SuA and Yoohyeon bellowed to their limits before they couldn't hold it any longer and bursts out laughing until they couldn't stand straight anymore.

"You give up now?" SuA asked, wiping her eyes.

Her friend snapped out from the shock. "Hah! Not a chance! I always get what I want!" She scowled and darted toward the boy as she shouted his name.

The two just watched her getting farther away from them. SuA could only snicker at her friend, feeling quite impressed by her determination. If only she can be like that in studying. She thought.

"Unnie, are you sure we can just let her with Jun?" Yoohyeon spoke. The way her older sister acted makes her slightly feels concern.

She stayed silent for a moment, taking the chance to observe them a little more before answering. "To be honest, I'm not really worried about Jun but your sister." She said, looking at the girl beside her.

"You know yourself she can't take kindly to being touched because of her trauma." She said.

Yoohyeon nodded and looked to the front again, watching her sister doing her hardest to make the running boy take the ice cream.

"Well, Jun is my brother so it will probably be fine. Plus she's wearing clothes and it's not like he's gonna hug her or anything." She chuckled, trying to bury the little worry of a feeling she has for her friend's condition.

Yoohyeon hummed in respond before they both sat down on the nearby wooden bench. They ripped the packets of their ice cream and started enjoying its cold effect while watching the other two.

After a few minutes of running after him, she gave up and heaved out loudly, bending down with her hands on her knees. He then also stopped and stood a few steps in front of her.

"Ya, stop running now. I'm can't keep up anymore, for real." She said after pumping up several chunks of air in and out of her lungs.

She stood straight. "Here." She handed out the ice cream again. "Just take it before it fully melted."

To her surprise, he casually walked closer and took it, ripped it wrapper and shoved it in his mouth. He looked at her and muttered a thank.

She scoffed. "What? You can talk after all." She dropped down to the ground on her butts. "Please don't run away again. I'm out of stamina."

He just stood there, eating his ice cream silently while looking at the beautiful faraway hill in front of the park. Convincing enough that he won't run again, she smiled.

It was hard to notice but the more she observes his face the more she could see the resemblance between him and her friend. Those slightly slanted eyes and pointy nose totally looked like SuA's.

She patted the ground beside her. "You wanna be a pillar or what? Sit down."

He obeyed and dropped his butts down in a similar position as her. Seeing the big gap between them, she rolled her eyes and scooted closer and quickly pulled his sleeve before he can slide away.

Amused by her own fast reaction, she grinned and chuckled. "Am I scary to you?" She asked, looking at his face from the side.

He shook his head and bowed down between his knees, finishing up his remaining ice cream.

"So why are you always hide away from me?" She continued the interrogation.

He just kept staring at the ground and before she could say anything again, a ball rolled and hit him. He picked it up and looked around for a bit before a woman and a little kid approaching them. JiU noticed that he immediately looked down again.
