Yoohyeon maneuvered her slim body using her branchy legs through the crowd in the cafeteria, full with crunching, slurping, and gossiping of the students. She stopped in front her usual checkpoint, the bread's glass cabinets and instantly scanned the various bread lined up neatly waiting to be picked and be freed. At least before it goes down her stomach. She decided to go with two pieces of bread with berry cream as the fillings. She nodded, feeling satisfied and went to the main counter that is half of her height to pay but not a single nostrils can be seen behind it. She looked around while unconsciously moving to the side near the staff room.
She was about to call for the counter keeper when a yell from the inside of the room startled the bones out of her, causing the bread in her hands to fly up before it flopped down on her head and then falls down on the floor.
She picked it up in a flash while rubbing her head and looks around for any witness. Luckily, everyone was too occupied by their own stuff to notice her clumsiness.
'Freak. My heart almost went malfunction.' she thought and immediately her curiosity crept over along with her revealing white teeth as a grin slowly plastered on her face.
She whistled a random tune while looking around in case someone notices her mischievous plan to eavesdrop. When she convinced that the line is clear, she bent her body over the counter as far as she can and tried to listen again. Her ears twitching as the faint voices entered her ears.
"Maybe you misheard what they said?" said a woman's voice, kind of raspy probably in her mid forty according to Yoohyeon's prediction.
"That can't be! I heard what they said clearly when I was walking past in front of the principal's office." the younger woman defended herself.
"A girl from grade 10 has disappeared again without a trace two days ago in this school. The girl's mother called the school after her daughter hasn't come back till midnight," she added.
"Maybe she wandered off somewhere after school?" the older woman suggested.
"I don't know about that but, what about the other four students that went missing? The last place that all of them have been seen was in this school." the young woman asked.
The conversation that Yoohyeon heard slowly causing the gears of her brain to start up. 'A student is missing in this school? But the teachers didn't give us any news or inform us to be cautious.' she thought before the door clicked and slowly opening.
She gasped and quickly grabbed the counter's ledges near her waist before she pulled her body to the back. The sudden forced movement caused her waist to let out a crack, getting the attention of a newly arrived counter keeper.
The older woman whipped her head toward her and then looked around. "What was that? Did something break?" she asked.
Yoohyeon displayed her teeth while holding back her scream that already reached the end of her throat. "I think something...surely broke but...I have no idea what it was," she said and slides the bread on the counter.
The older woman grabbed it and shoved it in a paper bag. "That'll be 2000 Won," she said.
Yoohyeon removed the precious wrinkled paper from her purse onto the counter. "Thank you." she bowed her head and turned her heels, walking away.
She makes a turn to the right, away from other students and stopped behind one of the pillars supporting the cafeteria. "Freak. My bone." she groaned while massaging her waist.
"But..." she pressed her back against the concrete pillars. "Is what I heard earlier true?" she looked up, questioning herself.
"If it's true, what are you gonna do about it?" someone suddenly asked beside her.
She flinched and leaped back by the sudden greet. "Ah, you startled me," she said while observing the girl that suddenly appears with a Student Representative badge above the school logo on her uniform.
The girl folded her arms on her chest. "Of course you should feel startled, it fits for a person who just did wrongdoing," she said.
"Wha...what are saying?" she stuttered out. "Plus, mind your own business. It has nothing to do with you anyway..." she added. "SuA." saying the girl's name caused the paper bag in her hand to crinkle.
SuA chuckled and bored down her stare into the taller girl's eyes. "You're right, it has nothing to do with me but..." she stepped closer. "...as the head of the SR, let me warn you that you better not stick your butt where it doesn't belong or you can get hurt...badly," she said.
Hearing the warning, Yoohyeon couldn't help herself from gulping down a chunk of her saliva down her dried throat. Seeing the girl has lost for word, SuA turned around to walk away before she turned her head to the side.
"Or you can take that as advice from an old friend," she said her last statement to the frozen girl and walked away from there like a model doing a runaway, leaving Yoohyeon all alone with her anxious heart.
"Friend?" Yoohyeon then chuckled. "Friend never betrays one another, not like you." her face turned sour as she watched the shorter girl kept getting smaller and smaller.

Across from the cafeteria in a small alley that separating the classrooms and the toilets stood a boy with a student chair on his back, observing the whole scene on his left side.'Disappeared without a trace and someone can get hurt, huh? Darn it. I got a bad feeling about this.' he thought and started his step, continuing his way toward his classroom while carrying his newly replaced chair.
'I transferred to this school with the expectation to live normally and away from her, but here goes your 'normal.' he thought and sighed.
