September 24th - 24 Weeks
Rebecca walked into the kitchen as saw Colby staring at the cake that was sitting in the middle, she watched him not take his eyes off of it and then he looked towards their backyard where the blackout balloon was tied up and then looked around to see if anybody was watching.
She watched him move towards the table to pick up the white envelope that Ashley had been given at the appointment they had two weeks prior. She watched him pick it up and look around to see if he was being watched, when he thought he was in the clear he began to carefully lift the tape off the envelope and she laughed silently.
"What are you doing?" she asked as she walked up to him and he jumped as he turned to face her and she folded her arms across her chest
"Nothing!" he exclaimed "I was just checking to make sure the tape was secure" he said and looked at it "All good!" he said and she shook her head
"You are unbelievable" she said taking the envelope from him "We've got like two more hours until we know"
"I can't help it!" he whined "There's a cake that can tell me what it is sitting on my table, there is a balloon with confetti in it in my backyard that can tell me and then theres this envelope" he said "It's mocking me" he said and she laughed
"Why don't you go to the coffee shop for a few hours to get out of here and away from temptation"
"Ha!" he exclaimed "I see what this is" he shook his head
"What?" she questioned
"You want me out of the house so you can open the envelope and know before me"
"Colby" she shook her head "Seriously?" she asked
"I'm not going anywhere..I'm watching you like a hawk" he said shaking his head and she rolled her eyes
"You are ridiculous" she said
Two hours later the home now began to fill up with family and friends, Ashley was there obviously, then there was Joe and Renee, Lexi and Leah it was mainly a house filled with women.
"Who created this guest list?" Colby looked to Rebecca
"Ashley" she answered "She was in charge of everything" she said
"Where are my friends?" he asked and she shrugged
"Do you honestly think they would have come?" she asked looking up at him
"If they loved me like they say they do" he grumbled
"Alright!" Ashley yelled "Everybody to the backyard" she opened the glass doors
"She loves being bossy" Colby shook his head
"It's one of her many talents" Rebecca said as her best friend pulled them towards the middle of the grass
"Alright" the blonde said handing the balloon to her friend "When you pop it, it will either be blue confetti or pink" she said "That will tell you what the gender is obviously"
"Ashley just count down" Colby was growing impatient now that the balloon was inches away from him
"Fine" Ashley glared at him "Everybody together now" she said

The group of friends counted down and Rebecca took a deep breath and Colby placed a quick kiss to her lips.
"Ready?" she asked and he nodded "Do it" she said and he popped the balloon and PINK confetti rained down on top of them as cheers were heard from all of the friends
"Oh my god" Rebecca said as tears fell from her eyes
"Its pink" Colby said with wide eyes
"it's a girl" Rebecca said in a whisper as she felt herself being lifted off the ground and his lips on hers
They broke apart and Rebecca continued to look at the ground and the pink confetti, they had been calling the baby she and her the entire pregnancy but now knowing for sure made it that much more real.
"You're having a little girl!" Ashley exclaimed as she hugged her best friend
"You are so screwed" Joe laughed as he hugged his friend
Once all of the friends left the house, it left the couple alone and with their own thoughts. Ashley left Rebecca with a tiny box which was a tiny pair of pink sparkly vans. That is when it actually sunk in for them, they were having a girl.
Rebecca sat the shoes on the coffee table and leaned back against Colby's chest with a sigh
"Wow" she said in a whisper "I mean we have been saying she this entire time but I didn't really know for sure" she said
"I thought for sure it was going to be a boy, just based on Ash's reaction a few weeks ago and she always went for blue stuff first when we were buying decorations for today"
"She tricked us" she laughed "It was a good day, it turned out better than I could have ever expected" she said and he nodded in agreement, they sat in silence for a few minutes before she looked up at him with a smile
"What?" he asked and she reached for his hand and placed it on her stomach
"Feel it?" she asked and he waited a few seconds before he felt the tiny bump to his hand and he looked at Rebecca with wide eyes and she just nodded
"She's moving" he said in a whisper and she nodded
"She is" she smiled and she picked up the shoes once again and looked at them "We're going to have a daughter Lopez"
"A beautiful daughter who hopefully doesn't get too much of your attitude if we're lucky"
"You would love it if she's a mini me and you know it" she laughed
"I will love whoever she becomes" he kissed her head
