Rebecca had been working diligently at the performance center since she'd arrived almost a year prior, anything they asked her to do she did.
She never went in thinking she knew everything, quite the opposite actually. She went in acting as if she knew nothing because to her she didn't know anything, she didn't think she was good and she was very much one of the less confident students in the classes.
There was a knock on Hunter's office door one night after all of the students had went home and he saw it open and in walked one of his proudest projects, Mister Seth Rollins AKA Colby Lopez.
"You got a minute?" the dark haired man questioned as he walked in slowly and Hunter closed his laptop
"Everything alright?" Hunter questioned as Colby sat down in one of the two chairs in front of his desk
"Yeah" Colby nodded quickly "There's just something I'm seeing every time I'm here" he said and Hunter stared at him and he took that opportunity to continue "Rebecca" he said "Becky" he said shaking his head, he was one of the only ones at the performance center to call her Rebecca "She's working her ass off" he said
"So I hear from many other students" Hunter nodded
"She's here all of the time. She is always on time, the first one in the ring and the last one out, she does everything you want her to do and more.. she hasn't come into this thinking she knows anything and she is letting the coaches completely retrain her"
"Colby where is this going?"
"Why hasn't she been debuted on the network yet?" he asked and Hunter's eyes widened
"Did she ask you to come talk to me? because you and I both know I don't take well to people not fighting their own battles"
"No!" Colby exclaimed "She doesn't even know I'm here" he shook his head "It's just something I am seeing every time I come down here.. people are always going before her and it's not fair to her.. she's worked her ass off for an opportunity and you need to give it to her.. just one chance to let her show you what she can do.. how she can connect to a crowd" he explained and Hunter nodded as he listened intently to the man and he thought for a moment
"Fair point" Hunter nodded with a shrug "You've got a point" he stated again with a nod "I'll talk to a few of the other coaches and see what they think about giving her the opportunity to prove herself in the next few weeks" he said and Colby stood up and shook his boss's hand
"That's all I'm asking" he said as he began to walk out the door
"Rollins" Hunter said and Colby turned back towards him "I'm going to give her the chance" he nodded "but if she fails it's on you" he said
"She won't" he shook his head with a smile
