September 10th - 22 Weeks
"This is so exciting!" Ashley said with a smile as she sat next to Colby in the doctors office
"Seriously babe?" Colby looked to Rebecca who was sitting on the exam table and she looked over at him "We could have just had the doctor write down the gender on a piece of paper and we could have given it to her" he said growing irritated
"She wanted to come" Rebecca said
"I was here before you" Ashley said and Colby shook his head
"I hate you" he said
"No you don't" she sang
"Will you two stop irritating each other?" Rebecca questioned "I swear it's like I've already got two kids with you two"
"Wow" Ashley said "Somebody is in a mood today"
"I'm not in a mood" Rebecca snapped and the blonde looked to Colby
"That's all you" he said to her "If you're stupid enough to piss her off right now, you can deal with the repercussions"
"Becks" Ashley said and her friend looked over at her as the blonde grabbed her hand "It's gonna be okay" she said sensing the nervousness coming from her best friend and the redhead nodded
"I know" she said with a nod "It's just been like three months since I've had an actual ultrasound.. I was supposed to have another one at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan but because of our schedules it's got postponed" she explained and Ashley nodded
"You can feel baby moving though" Colby said "Right?"
"All the time now" she said with a smile "which is something that reassures me"
The doctor, Linda came into the room fifteen minutes later and went over the basics, vitals on Rebecca, measurements and addressing any concerns Rebecca may have, which she didn't really have too many to the surprise of Colby.
Linda requested for Rebecca to lay back so she could begin the ultrasound, she did as instructed and reached instinctively for Colby's hand and held it tightly as they all stared at the big screen TV that was mounted on the wall, it was a direct image of what was happening on the smaller screen that Linda was looking at.
The screen quickly came to life and there it was, perfectly content in there and way bigger than last time Rebecca had seen it and it had the same effect on her now as it did then, she was mesmerized. Her free hand that was not holding Colby's went to her mouth and she looked over at Colby who was just as in awe
"Oh my god look at it!" Ashley exclaimed "Hi little baby" she said with a smile
"Baby is a whole lot bigger than the last time you saw it huh mom?" Linda questioned and Rebecca nodded
"Wow" Colby said in a whisper "It's real" he said and she looked over at him with a smile
"Baby is shy today" Linda laughed "Little hands are up by the face"
"Look at that" Colby said and that watched their little baby rubbing its face
The ultrasound was twenty minutes of checking everything, which was measuring right on track and everything was looking perfect. They watched the baby eventually wake up and as if it knew they were watching it began to put on a show, feet were above its head at one point, it looked like it was doing flips which Rebecca could feel every so often and would smile.
Baby Lopez was a whole 11 inches long and weighed 1 whole pound!
"Are you wanting to know the gender?" Linda questioned
"No!" Ashley exclaimed "No they don't!" she shook her head "but I do" she smiled
"I'm guessing you're doing the gender reveal for them?" Linda questioned
"Unfortunately" Colby grumbled from his seat and Ashley hit his shoulder
"He's not happy about it but I am" Ashley smiled and Linda laughed
"Well you can come over to the monitor and I will show you the gender and type it out for you to make sure you don't get the wrong color" she said and Ashley stood up as Linda turned off the big screen TV and turned the monitor completely away from Colby and Rebecca's view
After a few minutes Ashley smiled as she walked back to her seat next to Colby with her hands over her face
"You know?" he questioned
"Oh my god" She smiled as she tried to hide her own emotions the best she could but ultimately failed as she began to cry
"Wait!" Rebecca exclaimed "What does this mean?" she asked
"You sure you want to keep it a secret?" Colby questioned "She knows!" he pointed to the blonde
"I'm keeping it a secret!" Ashley nodded
"Come here.." Rebecca grabbed her friend's hand "I want to see your face" she said and Ashley walked over next to her as tears were still forming in her eyes which caused Rebecca to tear up and Ashley shook her head
"Stop looking at my face!" she said walking away "You'll figure it out"
"What do you think it is?" Colby asked with a smile
"I don't know" Rebecca shook her head
"I've got chills" Ashley shook her head "I kind of feel bad that I know right now" she said
"You could just tell me and I promise I won't tell her" Colby smiled
"Absolutely not" Rebecca shook her head "We find out together Lopez" she said
"but I don't think I can wait two weeks" He whined
"You waited 6 years for me, you can wait two more weeks"
