"Fucking bullshit!", I heard Rowan yell as I walked in the door.
"Rowan Ashton Stines!", I scolded as he froze, laying down his controller,
"What?", he whined.
"You know better than to use language like that. You're not new here!"
"Oh my god it's not a big deal!", he complained.
"Put up the game, no more tonight. You get like this every time you play for too long and I'm not putting up with it."
"What!? That's ridiculous!"
"You have five seconds before it's gone for a month young man." He groaned, putting up the controller and turning off his PS4.
"Fucking stupid.", he muttered, storming upstairs.
"Get rid of the attitude young man. If one more disrespectful thing comes out of your mouth, you'll be chatting with my belt. Am I understood?" He ignored me, continuing upstairs. "Rowan!", I barked.
"Yes!"
"Try again.", I growled.
"Yes sir.", he grunted out.
"Good." He went into his room, slamming the door as Harley came down the stairs, bouncing into my arms,
"Hi bubba."
"Hi babygirl. How was your day?"
"Good. Ro had a bad day."
"What kind of bad day?"
"He wasn't sad. He was just mad so I stayed upstairs."
"Okay love. Wanna help me make dinner?"
"Sure."
~~~~~~~
I knocked on Rowan's door,
"Rowan, it's almost dinner time.", I called. Nothing. "Ro?" Still nothing. Rowan never ignored me, he knew better. "Rowan open the door.", I demanded, trying the handle as panic set in. "Rowan open the door!" I heard something fall, surely off the wall from my banging, before the door was thrown open. Rowan stood a few feet away, headphones around his neck as he stared at me fearfully.
"I-I'm sorry.", he whispered. I rushed in and hugged him tightly,
"I thought you were hurt again."
"I'm not. I'm okay Dame."
"Good." He went over and picked up the picture of him and I off the floor, a big crack in the frame. "Sorry kid. We'll get you a new frame tomorrow."
"It's fine." I kissed his head softly before going back downstairs, only for Rowan to follow close behind. He sat on the counter by the stove as I continued cooking. "Har, c'mere.", he said softly. She stopped evenly placing garlic bread on a pan and walked over to him,
"Yeah?" He held her face gently as she stood between his legs,
"I'm sorry I was mean to you earlier."
"It's okay bubba."
"Good.", he said kissing her head.
"How long until dinner?", she asked me.
"About fifteen or twenty minutes."
"Can I go watch TV?"
"Sure sweetie. Something appropriate, okay?"
"Okay bubba." She ran off happily as Rowan looked at his feet, swinging above the hard wood floot,
"Damon?"
"Yeah?"
"W-Why'd you think I was hurt earlier?"
"I-I just get paranoid when you don't answer me. You don't ignore me so I got scared."
"Sorry. I just didn't hear you."
"I know. It's okay kid."
"I-I wouldn't do that to you again bubba."
"I hope not kid. I was really scared."
"I know."
"Damon! Someone's at the door!", Harley called.
"Okay love. I'll get it." I went to the front door and opened it, finding a shivering, soaking wet Rosa.
"H-Hi.", she muttered.
