A few days after the funeral...
Derek has been a complete mess, and I don't blame him at all. I told him to stop helping out at the station for now because it would be to much for him. Currently, I'm trying to come up with a plan on how I can approach Chief about my idea. Bravely walking up to him I say, "I need to discuss something with you." "Yes, what is it?" He asks. "I want to make an announcement. I want Daniel to come and meet me somewhere. I want to sit down with a serial killer." "Rebecca, that would be impossible." Chief responds. "Nothing is impossible, haven't you realized that?" He crosses his arms and thinks. "This would be to dangerous for you." "If anyone knows danger, it's me. I'm not afraid of him, I'm done being scared. He's been at this for years, and I'm sick of it. Everyone in Florida and Georgia is sick of being terrified that they're not safe. Everyone here is worried about there families. Wherever he's going next, is going to be tortured. I'm fed up with it. How long are we going to wait? How long are we going to let dozens die? I can't watch it anymore." "What makes you think he'll willingly meet you somewhere just to chat?" Chief asks. "Because he wants me. I know he does." "This is an opening of the gates to hell Rebecca." "Well I'm inviting the devil to have a conversation." "I'll get the news people here in an hour. It'll be broadcasted all over the world. But I need you to be armed." "I will be."
One Hour Later
"Rebecca Donelli has an announcement to make. Everyone settle down." Chief says. "I'm not that special, but thanks." I whisper. "You're pretty damn special to me." Derek says, supporting me. I'm confused as to when he got here, but the surprise is comforting. I look directly into the camera and say, "Daniel Wilson. You acted as James for so long. I respect your performance, you certainly fooled most of us. But, you will no longer fool any of us. We know you. We know of your past. We know of your present. And we will find out your future plans. I will hunt you. I will hunt you and I will find you. When I do, you'll rot in hell. This cat and mouse game must no longer be amusing since I'm no longer scared of the little act. Where should we meet? Actually, I'll choose. That spot, you know the one. In three hours meet me there. We'll make a deal." I wink at the camera before going back into the station. There's not a doubt in my mind that he won't show up. I know he will. Simply because he thinks he's superior, and he's so condescending he will assume that he'll get away with everything that has happened. But, he won't. He won't get away with any of it because I'm ready. I'm ready to arrest the embodiment of satan.
"Be Safe." Derek says, hugging me. "I will be." I respond. Over the past few hours I've gotten wired up, and I have a knife taped to my ankle, a gun showing on the side of my pants, and a gun taped to my thigh. He will only see one weapon, so he'll come to the conclusion that he can attack me at any given moment, but he won't be able to because I know his tricks. I meet Daniel at the place he kidnapped me the first time. I'm ready to have a conversation with a killer. I'm ready to fuck with his mind. I'm ready to get justice for not only myself and the people I love, but also for the innocent little girls and boys, the innocent parents, the innocent victims of every crime committed by this man.
Walking in, I'm alone. Daniel isn't there, but I'll wait. I'll take time to wait.
30 minutes later...
He walks in, with a knife in hand. He's trying to intimidate me, but it's not working. I don't get up from my chair. "You wanted to see me beautiful?" He says, tracing my neck with his knife. I take the gun from the side of my leg and point it to his face. "Yes, asshole, I did." "Oh, feisty today." He laughs. "Why'd you actually come Daniel?" "Well I wanted a taste of you, again." He says, sending a paralyzing sense of fear down my spine. But I won't let him get to me, I can't. "I just want to know one thing." I say. "When did you come back to Australia to fuck Iris?" I ask. "A couple years back. What a whore." He says. "Did you know she was pregnant and gave birth to your son, when you left?" I ask. "I got her pregnant?" He smiles, a sick and evil smile. He's pretending as if he doesn't know what I'm taking about. "You killed them both, don't play me like a fool. I'm not here for anything else but answers Daniel." "Answers about what my dear? How I murdered your entire little family? Let's be honest: you left your daddy dearest behind and you barely knew your mother, get a grip on reality." He says. I stand up and bang my hands on the table. "And what about Carlee?! What about Carlee, Daniel?! She was my best fucking friend!" I scream "Oh, she was fun. Her insides felt so good." "Shut up! Shut the fuck up! You're disgusting. You deserve to be fucking killed." I jump over the table and kick him to the floor. I take the knife out of his hand and hold it steady in mine. Dropping the knife, I beat him with my fists. Unleashing all of my anger, unraveling all of my damage, onto his face. Hearing the cracking noises of the man who hurt me, and so many other people. I put my hand on his neck and grab the knife. Through the blood on his face, he smiles. "You think I'm the monster? Look at you." He says. "I guess I'm the fucking monster then." I say, stabbing him in the neck. As soon as I do this, backup storms in and I feel Chief pull me off Daniel. Derek walks over, and lifts up Daniel from off the ground. Detective Lance walks over and puts Daniel in handcuffs. I look at him and hear his rights being read to him, "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you?" "Do you!" I scream. He nods. They take him out and he mouths to me, "I'm everywhere." Before getting put into the police car.
I am free of the man who has terrorized me.

Justice was served that day. But the other members of the cult, and the true person behind all of this, would soon reveal themselves in forms I never wanted to see.
