I was peacefully asleep because it was about 3:00 am but i was awoken by my boyfriend daniel lightly shaking me and kissing the tip of my nose. My eyes fluttered open to meet Daniel's eyes ocean blue ones.
You: morning
Daniel: good morning babe
You: why are you waking me up at 3:00 am?
Daniel: well there is this a great hike up to the Hollywood sign and if you go early you can make it for sunrise and i want you to go with me
You: that sounds great, when are we leaving?
Daniel: in about 30 minutes
We then both got up and got showers, after my shower i got dressed and put on some leggings and a crop top. I also put on some trainers and a light jacket as it was till early so it would be slightly chilly.
I went downstairs to the kitchen where daniel was filling our water bottles for the hike. He also grabbed two apples that we could eat along the way when we got hungry. I grabbed a small backpack to put everything in.
Daniel grabbed his car keys and we got in the car to get to the start of the hike. On the way we both sung along to our playlist on my phone and danced about slightly in our seats. It was so nice just having fun with daniel and being able to joke around. We don't get to spend huge amounts of time together so when we do we try to make the best of it and daniel always likes to take me to cool places. I like it when he does this because then when he is gone again i go to all these places to relive the memories.
We finally arrived and daniel parked the car and we both got out. Daniel grabbed my hand and we then started the hike together, there was no one else on the trail so it was very peaceful.
Daniel: do you have the speaker?
You: i don't know, I didn't put it in but i don't know if i took it out last time
Daniel: let me look
Daniel let go of my hand and walked behind me for a second so that he could look in the bag. He handed me my water bottle so that he could see more into the bag and he then pulled out the speaker. I handed the water bottle back to him. Daniel connected his phone to the speaker and out it on the side pocket of the bag. He laced his fingers with mine again as we continued our walk.
We hadn't been walking for too long before 8 letters came on and i looked at daniel secretly hoping he would get my hint and sing it because i love hearing him sing.
Daniel: what is that look for?
You: i want you to sing
Daniel: ok anything for you sweetheart
Daniel laughed at me but he still did what i had asked me and he started singing 8 letters. I loved the whole thing because Daniel's voice just sounded angelic. As he was singing i leant my head against his shoulder just taking in the moment. After the song ended daniel stopped singing but when he did he took his hand from mine and put it around my waist. He pulled me close to his side and leant down to kiss me forehead.
The sun was now beginning to rise and we were almost at the end of the hike and i could see some of the view of the city and it was amazing. You could see all the tall buildings in the heart of the city and then the more sparse part of the city where there were play parks and a lot more trees. I couldn't imagine what it was going to be like when we reached the end.
After another 10 minutes of climbing the steep hill we finally made it to the top of the hike where you got the full view as the sun came over the horizon making the sky a beautiful orange and pick colour.
I was busy just staring in awe at the view when i was snapped out of my daydream by daniel lightly pulling me to the floor. He was sat down and i sat between his legs while leaning back on his chest. Daniel handed me one of the apples we brought and my water. We sat and ate together while recovering from our hike.
It was now about 6:30 am and the sun had fully risen and the day had began. Me and daniel stayed sat down for a while before we decide it would be a good idea to head back down and back to the car. Daniel got up first and then helped me up but he continued to hold on to my hand.
Daniel: while we're here alone would you like to Dance with me
You: that sounds amazing dani
Daniel over his hands to my waist and it out my hands around his neck. We both began to sway back and forth. The music changed to a much slower song which really fit the moment and made it even more special. We just looked into one another's eyes and i just had the biggest smile on my face because i could just see the love in Daniel's eyes which made me feel good about myself as i knew daniel really loved me.
You: i love you so much
Daniel: well i love you more and don't argue with me on this because you know it is true
I giggled at him. We finished our little dancing session by sharing a passionate kiss. We finally let go of our grip of one another and started walking back down. We laughed and joked with each other the whole way back down the trail.
We made it back to the car and daniel drove us back to our house. When we got back we both went back into our bedroom and i got back in bed because i was tired. Daniel realised what I was doing and got back in bed next to me. We cuddled and both fell back to sleep because we were exhausted.
