Today i have just been chilling at home just watching tv and getting on with chores and work. I was now waiting for my boyfriend daniel to come home. My phone began to ring and my mum's contact flashed on my screen so I obviously answered it.
You: hey mum how are you
Y/m/n: oh y/n i have some bad news
You: what is it?
Y/m/n: well your uncle just died in hospital
You: what!
I broke down into tears and talked to my mum for a bit longer before she had to go. I kept crying hysterically because i was very close to my uncle and now he was gone. I had no idea how to act no one in my family had ever died before. I just got up and went to the bedroom i shared with daniel and sat on the floor with my knees to my chest crying my eyes out.
Daniel's POV
I just arrived home after interviews and meetings and i expected to see my girlfriend sat on the sofa as today was her day off. Although when i opened the door she was nowhere to be seen. I called her name and received no answer i began to worry before i heard her crying upstairs which absolutely broke my heart.
I walked up to our room to see her sat on the floor with her knees to her chest and her head down.
Your POV
I heard the door open to the room and i knew it was daniel but i didn't want to look up because i knew if he saw me like this he would get upset too. I then felt someone pick me up and i was then placed on Daniel's lap while he wrapped his arms around me to comfort me.
Daniel: hey sweetheart whats wrong
You: m-my uncle j-just d-died
Daniel: aww darling I'm so sorry, is there anything i can do to make you feel better?
You: can we just cuddle please?
Daniel: of course
I looked at him for the first time since he walked in and he immediately got a sad look on his face and wiped the tears that were still on my face before pulling me extra close to him and kissing my cheek.
We cuddled for a little while which distracted me until i began to think about all the memories i had shared with my uncle which made me upset and i began to cry again. Daniel quickly noticed me sniffling and sat up with me and rubbed my back to calm me down.
Daniel: darling its going to be ok i know it seems like it won't but i know it will
You: t-thank you
Daniel: do you want to talk about some of the good times because it helps to distract from the bad
You: ok
I talked to daniel about all my favourite memories with my uncle, one of which was when they met. When daniel met my uncle they both got along so well and it was so great to see and now look back on. It made me realise how special daniel was and that day was the first time me dan daniel said i love you to each other.
After i shared all the memories daniel looked at me and he had tears in his eyes too and i began to worry i upset him with something I said.
You: oh dani please don't cry i didn't mean to make you cry
Daniel: its not your fault it was just so amazing to hear how much you cherish the days you spent with your uncle and its nice to know that the day i met him was so special to you.
You: of course it was special to me
Daniel: you are just so cute. Is there anything you want to do
You: i just want to go to sleep because the crying had made me tired
Daniel: come on then
We laid back down. Daniel had his arms around my waist and he started to sing softly to me which made me fall asleep pretty quickly.
Daniel's POV
Y/n fell asleep in my arms and then i kissed her cheek. I laid with my arms around her for a while before i saw my phone light up with a text from the boys.
Corbyn: daniel do you want to come out with us tonight
Daniel: I'm sorry i can't y/n is asleep and i want to stay with her because her uncle just died
Zach: tell her we are sorry for her loss
Jonah: that's ok you stay with her
Daniel: thanks guys I'm sure she will appreciate it
Jack: its no problem now go comfort her
I put my phone back down and looked at y/n. Her eyes were all puffy but she still looked adorable. It was sad to see her so upset but in a weird way it makes me realise how much i love her because seeing her crying makes me want to cry knowing she isn't and it is something i can't just fix in a day.
It got late and i decided i should go to sleep to so i cuddled into y/n more and quickly fell asleep next to her.
