I know this is quite different to any of my other parts but i wanted to do this seeing as not too long ago it was Mother's Day in America and i think Canada so this goes out to any single parents i can only imagine how hard it is.
It's been a while since i have been out for the day seeing as my boyfriend left me and our baby and being a single mum is hard but today i decided to go out shopping. After i got the baby ready i got dressed as quick as i could, i put on a yellow cropped top and some mom jeans as well as a denim jacket and some white shoes. I didn't have time to do my hair or makeup because the baby woke up and needed feeding.
It took a while but when we were finally ready i drove to the mall, it wasn't a long drive but I didn't want to walk because i would have had too much stuff. When we arrived i sorted out the stroller before i headed into the mall, when i walked in i saw a bunch of girls surrounding a group of 5 boys who i assumed had to be sort of famous which i thought was cool seeing as i had never been anywhere near anyone famous.
I went around a few shops on the grounds floor and got somethings for me and the little one before i decided to head to the second floor to get something to eat from the food court. As i went to find the lifts i saw a sign that said they were out of order and i just sighed. Now i had to try and carry the stroller up the stairs which was bad enough at my house where there is like 3 steps. I grabbed the baby carrier to put Raya in (this is my favourite girls name right now so sorry if you don't like it) because its the safest way to carry her up the stairs.
Daniel's POV
Me and the boys were walking around the mall when i saw a girl who looked quite young trying to put her baby in a carrier and fold up a stroller to carry it up the stairs and I couldn't just stand there and watch so i told the boys i was going and went over to help her.
Daniel: hey do you need any help?
You: yeah if thats ok
Daniel: its no problem
Your POV
A guy came over and offered to help me which i was really great fun for, he crabbed the stroller so that i could just walk up the stairs. While we walked up the stairs we talked a little bit and he told me his name was Daniel and that he was 21 so he was the same age as me. He was actually really nice and we had a few things in common. When we got up the stairs he helped me unfold the stroller and put Raya back in it, me and daniel walked around together for a little while to let Raya settle down and while we did we got to know each other better.
Daniel: your baby is so cute, how old is she?
You: she is 3 months next week actually
Daniel: thats so sweet
Daniel: how about i buy you lunch and we can talk for a bit longer, i mean if thats ok with you
You: lunch sounds great but i can pay for my own
Daniel: don't argue with me I'm going to pay
You: ok fine
We walked to the McDonald's in the food court because that was the only good place in the food court. I got a table for the both of us that was kind of out the way in case i needed to feed Raya, i told daniel what i wanted and let him go and order. It didn't take long for daniel to get back because it wasn't too busy today, he sat down and we ate in silence which was fine. After we had finished eating me and daniel talked a bit more and really got to know one another. Our conversation was interrupted when Raya started crying, i picked her up And i thought that she might need feeding so i made sure i was covered and tried to feed her but she really didn't want to. I tried everything i could to stop her crying but she just wouldn't stop, daniel offered to take her so i carefully placed her in his arms. He rocked her gently and she stopped crying, it made me realise how bad it really is that Raya is going to grow up without a father figure in her life. I got kind of emotional but i tried to hide it because its not really something anyone else needs to know about.
