Y/n's pov.  

" Are you sure this will work? " I asked.

" It's the best we got " Gene said.

" Then is is our final decision " Aiden said.

" Hope for the greatest " Dante said.

" Hopefully " Arthur said and roll up the map that was drawn by a guard.

I walk away and exit the house as I head to the cottage. Natalie is at the blacksmith helping the gentlemen's to train.

I see the little boy Aiden sitting on the stool eating a loaf of bread, and I think that's his third. I walk up to him.

" Slowly " I said and he looks up at me as he rip the bread off with his teeth.

" You'll choke " I said.

I grab a jug of water on the e ale and pour it into the wooden cup. (Pic above)

I pick up the cup and pass it to him, he drinks it and slowly swallow the bread. I sit down next to him. I break off the loaf of bread into pieces and place it down on the wooden bowl in front of him.

" Easy does it " I said and pass his a small piece.

I feed it to him and he looks up at me with his glistening eyes.

" Your adorable " I pinch his cheek.

I let go and just watch him eat.

I wonder what it feels like to have one on my own.

" Y/n " I was snapped out of my thoughts as I turn to my back.

Gene.

I stood up and curtsy.

" Your Highness " I said and look away.

" Walk with me " he said, I nodded.

I approach him and we both walk side by side.

" I see you and my brother has a good connection " he said.

" Not really " I said.

" I've also noticed you avoiding the both of us " he said.

My eyes widens.

" It's not what you think " I said.

" You don't usually make eye contact like we used to " he said.

" I've been trying to be more. . . . . respectful " I said.

" What did my mother said to you? " He asked.

" Nothing, we were just chatting about the dance and other things " I said.

He then stops in front of me, I stop and just keep my head down. He leans in and I look up as I see he squints his eyes at me.

I take a step back.

" Says the one who warned his brother about getting close to me " I said out loud.

" Says the one who tried to be more respectful " he said.

I was about to say something but I shut my mouth.

" You have a point " I said and intertwine my hands in front of me.

He then about to grab my hand by I avoid it. I saw a glimpse of a mischievous on his lips.

" I hope we both can have a mutual connection as well " he said and walk away.

I look up and see his back facing me, I exhale.
