Friends of Jessica Vanderbilt and Zac Efron shared the happy news with a flurry of Instagram posts of the happy couple.

Congratulations are in order for Zac Efron and Jessica Vanderbilt: they're engaged!

While neither of them have commented on the exciting turn of events, numerous friends shared the news on Instagram this afternoon, confirming the couple made the announcement at what was expected to be a Welcome Home party for Vanderbilt. Several pictures from the event feature Vanderbilt excitedly displaying a sizable diamond ring while Efron is absolutely beaming with joy.

Efron and Vanderbilt first dated in 2012, before reuniting some time earlier this year. Following a whirlwind romance that included traveling around the world together, the couple split in 2013 amid speculation Efron was struggling with drug addiction. Vanderbilt went on to marry Kyle Kennedy a year later.

Following Vanderbilt's divorce in 2016, Efron caused quite a stir when he told the Hollywood Reporter, "She [Vanderbilt] is single-handedly the most important person in my life. I am the man I am today because I was lucky enough to have her in my life." In the same interview, Efron added, "I think part of loving someone - truly loving someone - is wanting them to be happy, even if that means they're with someone else. And that's how I feel about her. I love her more than anything or anyone. Someone told me once that if I lost her, it would be the biggest regret of my life. So far, that's been true."

After the interview was published, fans urged Efron via social media to "go get your woman." Rumors things might be back on for the pair surged when they were snapped holding hands near her Tribeca apartment, attending the musical Hamilton, and enjoying burgers and fries at Shake Shack earlier this year. They were last spotted together in March when they attended a wedding together.

The duo only became Instagram official three weeks ago when Efron posted a picture of the two from the premiere of his latest film, The Greatest Showman. At the time, sources close to the couple expressed their elation that the former couple had managed to work things out. "Everybody's very, very happy for them and their family and friends are all thrilled." Another source added, "They were so young when they fell in love and had to find a way to make their lives work together now. We all knew they were together, but wanted to make sure we gave them time and space to figure it out on their own terms. We didn't want to put any pressure on them, so we just let them be and didn't bring it up. Now that it's out in the open, everyone's really happy to share in their joy and excitement. They're just perfect for each other."

We reached out to reps for the couple and they confirmed Efron and Vanderbilt have chosen to make their own announcement, but were not forthcoming with the details regarding when that would take place.
