(Your POV):
It was a curse that I had that anything that I wanted to happen just wouldn't occur the way that I hoped. Peter did wake up while I was at school, near the end of it but still meaning that I wasn't there when I woke up.

To make matters worse, I was the one who had to make up an excuse to MJ for him as to why he wasn't at school. I used the classic 'he's sick' excuse, but I could tell that she didn't believe me. Thankfully, the bell rang before she had a chance to interrogate me and she seemed to let it go the rest of the day. Or at least I was good at changing the subject whenever it seemed that she was about to bring it up.

Since Ned knew his secret, I did tell him the truth, to a certain extent. I didn't want him to freak out, which I knew he would've if I had informed him that he needed surgery and was still in a coma. Instead, I simply told him that he had been injured on the job and needed the day off of school to rest at home before returning to the stressful life of high school which did not help the healing process in any way.

I went immediately to Stark Tower after school let out, needing to see Peter. He was still in a private section of the med bay so that no one except for those who knew his identity were allowed in. I was not surprised to find Stark beside him, Peter talking his ear off and Stark with a small smile on his face.

"Hey Pete, I'm sorry I wasn't here when you woke up, but my parents would have killed me if I missed a day of school for the boyfriend that they don't know I have," I greeted him, my heart quickening at the sight of his smile widening when he saw me.

"(Y/N), you saved my life, Mr. Stark told me!" He climbed out of his bed and wrapped his arms around me.

I was taken aback by the sudden embrace and worriedly asked, "are you sure you should be out of bed? You were in really rough shape last night."

He shrugged, "I've got super healing so they don't really have an excuse to keep me confined to the bed."

"That may be so, but you really should be resting. You almost died last night and only regained consciousness about an hour ago," Stark pitched in, looking at his son with worry in his gaze.

Peter shrunk slightly as Stark reprimanded him and obediently returned to his bed, which I sat beside and grabbed his hand. "So how are you feeling, Pete? You look a lot better than last night."

"Yeah some of the wounds haven't really healed much, but I have my energy back and can now move around."

"Mr. Stark's right then, you should be more careful so that you don't reopen the wounds. I mean, Tony's right, sorry Tony."

"I'm always right, kid. Anyway, now that you've got her, I should probably head out and give you some time together. I'll swing by later to see how you're doing, ok? And I better not have to deal with your almost lifeless body again, do you understand?"

"Of course, Mr. Stark. Thank you for letting me come here and having your doctors take care of me," Pete thanked him, receiving a nod from Stark before he left the room and allowed Pete and I some privacy.

I rubbed my thumb in small circles on Peter's hand as I told him, "he really cares about you, you know."

"Mr. Stark? I-I don't think so, I think he just feels a little responsible for my actions because he gave me the suit."

"Peter, he was so close to breaking down last night while you were in surgery. I don't think you understand how much you mean to him, he thinks of you like his son." Peter remained seemingly unconvinced, but I noticed the twitching of his lips upwards as he thought about how much Stark cared about him. I then changed the subject, "speaking of caring, Ned and MJ were concerned about you. You should probably let them know that you're ok. Ned I think was freaking out a little bit and MJ is growing more suspicious, maybe you should tell her who you are?"

"(Y/N), my identity is secret for a reason, I can't just go telling everyone I interact with."

"But MJ's not just someone that you interact with, she's our friend. And she's the only one still in the dark. Not to mention that she's quite suspicious of you and eventually she's going to find out the truth, whether you tell her or not. Besides, wouldn't it be nice not to have to come up with random excuses as to why you have to miss our movie and study nights anymore?"

Peter sighed, "I guess, but it's still a little scary for me. I mean, there's already so many who know me and if my identity leaks then May will be in danger and so will you."

"I can take care of myself, Pete. Besides, I know a few superheroes who can help me out," I smiled at him, bringing his hand up to my lips. "You should invite the two of them here to visit you and you can explain to her then."

"Peter Benjamin Parker!" A voice yelled, cutting Peter off before he had a chance to respond to my proposal. In ran the frantic figure of May, who had a crazed look in her eyes. "First you don't return home so I'm worried sick and then you won't reply to my texts or calls so now I'm ready to go to the police, then nearly twenty four hours later I have to find out from Tony Stark that you almost died?! Why didn't you call me back the second you woke up?! And you, (Y/N), why didn't you call me last night to tell me what was going on?!"

"May," Peter started, taking the heat off of me briefly. "Please keep your voice down, only specific people here know who I am."

"Don't you dare tell me to keep my voice down after what you've done to me!"

I stepped forward, knowing that the sooner I got this over with, the better. "May, I am so sorry that I didn't call you. I was just so worried about Peter and neither Tony nor I thought about how worried you must have been. I was completely self absorbed in my own concern that I didn't even once think about you. I am so sorry, May, I can't even imagine what you must have been going through. I swear that if anything like this happens again, calling you will be a top priority."

May's face softened, "I don't really blame you, dear, you did save his life, after all. And don't even try to deny it, Mr. Stark's already told me everything. But you, Peter, you better not end up in another situation like this or I'm taking away the suit."

"May, it was one time. I was caught off guard, that's all." May's glare did not break, causing Peter to sigh. "Fine, I promise to be more careful in the future and I won't let anyone almost kill me."

(A/N): Ok so I had to throw in worried May because she would be scared as hell if he didn't return home after a patrol and I really wanted you to be there for it so we're just going to roll with the idea that no one thought about telling her until like after he woke up ok? Great. Now onto the mandatory Wednesday night AOS review (aka anything I love and also my worry for the beautiful perfect man that is Daniel Sousa)

I don't want to spoil anything (because like that would be rude and mean and we don't do that here) but like that preview for the next episode killed me and I literally screamed when they showed the pool and I was crying from emotion by the end of this like 15 second clip (I have no perception of time so that number could be wildly off but the point is that it was short). Also we were so robbed of Coulson/Sousa interactions and I better get them despite the thing that happened at the end or I'm showing up to marvel and beating their asses. Anyway, Daniel Sousa deserves the world and he better not get hurt ever or I will personally transcend universes to destroy the person that lay a hand on him. That is all. I hope you enjoyed the chapter ❤️
