(Your POV):
My phone began to light up with notifications as I worked on my homework for the night. I had turned on notifications for a variety of Spider-Man fan pages so that I could always be alerted to when he was in battle. Usually, when they posted something it was nothing serious but when I got so many alerts in such a short period of time I knew something was going down.

And it certainly was serious this time around. Peter was spotted fighting the same guy that had nearly killed him. The one that they called Spidercide. We still did not know much about him, except for his similarities to Spider-Man. He wore the same suit and seemed to have the same powers as Peter, the only difference between the two being that Spidercide was much taller in stature and had a more defined muscle mass. Essentially, he looked like the jock version of Peter.

Afraid for Peter's safety considering his condition after the last time they had battled, I quickly snuck out of my room and suited up as I crept out of my window. I still had that longing for teleportation, but luckily the fight was not too far away and with the short cuts that I knew, it only took a few minutes for me to arrive.

Peter clearly had lost the upper hand, being thrown to the ground by Spidercide. Seeing them both in person made me realize how much larger Spidercide was in comparison to Peter. He was rather daunting, but I had taken down guys his size before, so what if he had quick reflexes and webs coming out of him?

While he was busy with Peter and hadn't yet noticed me, I threw a dagger at him. Without even flinching, he caught the handle then looked up me, tilting his head slightly. He let out a small sigh, "Void, you disappoint me."

He grabbed Peter and threw him across the roof, causing me to run over to catch him. He was thrown with a greater force than I was prepared for, causing me to crash to the ground, but I did manage to break his fall. That was worth a bruised butt, right?

Spidercide wasted no time as he wrapped us both up with his webs. I discovered that he used a different formula than Peter did, my blade unable to cut through it. Desperate, I sent electricity through the web and back into Spidercide, hoping to shock him. He jumped back slightly, but it didn't seem to do any damage as he forcefully pulled me to the ground. I was about ready to turn to fire when Peter rushed over to me and released a dissolving liquid from his web shooters.

"Thanks," I muttered as I threw the webs free from my body and took his outstretched hand to pull myself off of the ground. Peter gave me a nod in response and launched an offensive, trying to pin Spidercide's arm to the ground with his webs. While he did this, I began to throw everything in sight at Spidercide, hoping to do at least a little bit of damage.

He ripped his arm free from Peter's webs and used his own to create a shield so that he could protect from my attacks. It was clear that there was no way we were going to beat him, however I didn't have anyone to call to help us now that Harry was gone. But I was fighting along someone who did know some fighters.

"Hey, Spidey-boy, any chance you could call in for some backup?"

He shook his head, "it would be of no use, by the time they'd get here, we'd probably be dead. I think the best thing we can do right now is get out of here and engage him later when we do have the Avengers."

Escape was not something that I was used to, I had been groomed into not giving up so I had to keep fighting, at least until I knew that it would be impossible to win. Knowing that he could stop attacks being thrown at him, I decided to test his hand to hand combat, rushing towards him and feigning a punch as I wrapped my arm around his neck and pulled him into a chokehold.

With apparent ease, he threw me from his back and my vision went dark for a second before I came back to see him standing above me with one of my daggers ready to plunge into my heart. I was suddenly pulled off of the building and I quickly grabbed onto the side of the roof for dear life.

"Let go, I've got you," a voice spoke in my ear, causing me to turn and see Peter next to me, his webs attached to my waist. He moved closer so that he could wrap his arm around me and then leapt from the building, causing a surprised squeak to leave my throat. I quickly latched onto him, not even caring if he recognized the way I was holding him now from when he had thought it was a good idea to swing his girlfriend around the city.

Peter finally set me down on a rooftop, once he deemed us a safe enough distance away and Spidercide hadn't followed us. I stumbled backwards as he set me down, trying to recompose myself as well as regain my balance. Peter laughed at me, "so much for the tough-guy persona."

"Shut it," I snapped, afraid that he was going to find out my fear of heights and relate it to his girlfriend. I honestly did not know how he hadn't figured it out yet. "I just don't like having to rely on others. Now, I have some more things to do, promise that you won't follow me?"

"Sure, as long as you don't follow me," Peter bargained, causing me to roll my eyes at him.

"It's a deal, then." I held out my hand mockingly for a handshake, but Peter accepted it, sealing the ridiculous deal that we wouldn't stalk one another.

I broke the contact and turned to leave the rooftop when Peter called out, "Wait, Void, there's one more thing!"

"Yes?"

He began to play with his suit before detaching a piece and handing it to me, "Spidercide knows you as a target now. If he engages you, press that button and I will be notified of your location and can come help out with the Avengers."

"And how do I know you won't be tracking me the entire time?"

"You'll just have to trust me. The same way I'm going to have to trust you not to press that button to lure me into a trap."

"I don't trust my enemies."

"Then let's not be enemies, at least until Spidercide is defeated," Peter suggested, my heart leaping at the words. If only I could stop being his enemy, but I couldn't let my parents realize that I had grown soft on him.

"What do you want us to be then? Because I'm sure as hell not being your friend, no matter how short a time we would have to be them."

"How about allies, just until Spidercide is taken down."

I nodded, "allies, then. I'll see you around, kid."

Leaving Peter fanboying over the fact I had just quoted Star Wars to him, I jumped from the roof and used my grapple to carry me safely home. I attached Peter's beacon to my suit, hoping that he would keep his word but touched by the fact that he would care about Void enough to keep her safe, even if I had attacked him quite a few times while in the suit.

(A/N): Ooh are Void and Spider-Man going to grow closer? Or is this alliance going to result in disaster, allowing Peter to make the connection between his girlfriend and his entry? Any thoughts on Spidercide? I hope that you enjoyed this chapter and teaming up with Peter again!
