(Your POV):
"I was surprised that that test wasn't actually too hard," I remarked as Peter, Ned, and I left our math classroom at the end of the school day.

"Speak for yourself, my brain still hurts," Ned groaned, but I rolled my eyes at him.

"Ned, I've been partnered with you in that class and trust me, you know your stuff. I'm sure you easily got an A."

"Yeah, you're getting ready to pass both (Y/N) and I in terms of GPA," Peter added as we reached our lockers.

Ned laughed, "like that's ever going to happen. Who's in the lead right now?"

"I am," we both replied simultaneously, glaring at each other as we realized that the other had spoken as well.

"(Y/N), I hate to break it to you but I'm still ahead from last quarter."

"You were, but we just got our tests back in Econ and it bumped me ahead of you by a little bit."

"How much is a little?"

".000023, but it still means I'm ahead," I teased, kissing Peter's cheek.

He grinned at me, "for now anyway."

Ned, Peter, and I met up with MJ at the front of the school, which had become our routine even though none of us lived all that close to one another. But we had a route that we followed and each person would peel off when they needed to until finally it was left with just Peter and myself.

As we approached the street that we would have to part ways on, Peter turned to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, bringing his lips down to mine, "will I see you tonight?"

A smile spread across my face as curled some of his hair around my finger, "hopefully not, I don't plan on coming over unless you need someone to patch you up."

"Well then, I guess I'll just have to get injured on patrol then won't I?"

"You will do no such thing!" I slapped his arm lightly as I pulled away from his embrace. "You better not recklessly endanger yourself, Peter Parker, you hear me?"

Peter threw his hands up in mock surrender, "ok, ok, I won't try to get hurt. But if I do, at least I'll get to see you."

"Well if you're that desperate, maybe I'll swing by at some point, just promise me to stay safe."

"I always try," Peter promised me, planting a kiss on my cheek before we turned our separate ways to return home.

As I began to walk away, I became aware of someone watching me. I glanced back at where Peter had disappeared around the corner, wondering if he was coming back my way, but he was gone. Confused and wondering if I was just paranoid, I turned back around just in time to see a blur of red and blue before a sharp pain erupted in the back of my head and everything went black.

When I finally came to, the first thing I became conscious of was a splitting headache originating from where the pain had started before. I tried to lift my hand to feel the back of my head, but both arms were bound by restraints. Finally managing to pry my eyes open, I found myself in what appeared to be an abandoned studio, in some sort of clear-walled cell.

"I see you've finally woken up," a voice spoke, causing me to whip my head in the direction it came from. Spidercide. Of course he was the one behind all of this.

"Well, it isn't very nice to kidnap young women off of the streets," I retaliated, trying to wriggle out of the restraints so that I could activate my suit as well as the tracker that Peter had given me.

He noticed my struggles and spoke, "here, let me help you with those." With a press of a button, the restraints unlocked and my arms were freed.

I frowned at him and asked, "why would you do that?"

"You're not the enemy here, (Y/N), Spider-Man is."

I raised my eyebrow, "and why do you think I would be able to lure Spider-Man here?"

"Please, I know all about your relationship with him, Void. Your parents have asked me to watch you while I've been out targeting Spider-Man."

"How do you know my parents? What have you told them?"

"Your parents are why I'm here, they helped me realize who I am." He paused for a moment, as though waiting for a reaction from me. "Wow, they really don't tell you anything anymore, do they? You ever wonder why that is? They don't trust you, they think you've gone soft. But don't worry, I haven't told them anything yet and I have a solution that will help both of us."

"And that is?"

"I kill Spider-Man and you can have me as a boyfriend instead," Spidercide proposed, seeming quite confident that I would accept.

"How does that help me?! I love Peter, not you!"

"But I am Peter," he growled, clearly getting upset. "That boy you've been dating is a fraud, an imposter. I am Peter Parker."

I scoffed, "sure you are, I bet my parents designed you in the lab and fabricated who they wanted you to be. That's what they did with me anyway."

Spidercide stepped towards my cell and for a moment I thought he was going to open it and attack me, but instead he just reached up and pulled his mask off, revealing a face that looked scarily like Peter's. It was a little more mature and angular, like it had been manufactured to look like Peter, but the likeness threw me off guard.

"Now you must see that I am Peter Parker, you're parents didn't create me. They only reminded me of who I was in exchange for the promise that I would kill the imposter and keep an eye on you."

"So why didn't you report on me like you were asked?"

"Because I don't answer to them. I am only fighting Spider-Man because that's what I want to do. Your parents don't own me."

I sighed, hoping that I could make him think that I was turning to his side, "that's more than I can say for myself. If I go with you, will you help me protect myself against my parents?"

"I don't think you'll need much help, but of course. You are my girlfriend, after all."

I smiled at him as I activated my suit as well as the tracker, "then let's go catch ourselves a spider."

(A/N): Ok so the beginning of this chapter just made me feel all warm and fuzzy. I probably should dedicate more time to School™ you and Pete where there are less responsibilities, but it makes these little moments more special. Also shoutout to spiderwqbs for accurately guessing that Spidercide's from H.A.M.M.E.R (but also just a shoutout in general because they're like the only one who comments on this story period)

But yeah, figured it's been a while since your parents launched a supervillain so I chose Spidercide. Plus, now you know that you're parents are growing more suspicious and are no longer trusting you with what's going on at H.A.M.M.E.R. ☺️
