the morning had brought rain. there was no sun to shine through the curtains and no little bit of light to offer the boy some shadows to see. jungkook sat on the couch and listened to the soft beats coming from the headphones. it was the sound of the raindrops on the window that had the boy thinking of a particular song, now he wanted to listen to it until he got bored and thought of something else to do.his roommate had finally woken up. the older wasn't as much of a morning person as the small ravenette was, especially on days that he had off from work. "morning kook." namjoon said with a voice still deep from sleep. he walked into the kitchen and thought of something for breakfast, it didn't matter that it was almost 1 in the afternoon.
"good morning hyung." jungkook left one headphone out so he could hear his roommate.
"did you eat yet?" namjoon had his head in the fridge looking for something. looking at just their groceries it wouldn't be guessed that two teenage boys lived here, not with all the healthy alternatives and organic options filling the drawers and lining the shelves.
jungkook hummed and turned off the soft music completely, choosing to stand and carefully walk around the couch to get to the kitchen. "not yet. i was waiting for you."
"you're a sweetheart." the older boy had said, and he started to take out some ingredients to prepare a meal for the two of them. "you know you need to keep up with your meals."
"eating by myself is boring though." jungkook had pouted. maybe that's why he always visited his roommate at work or waited until he was around to eat with him. the small boy was also not the best at trying to cook for himself, not if it wasn't something prepackaged or simple as a granola bar or fruit.
namjoon just hummed. he knew too well. there wasn't a day that he didn't need to get on the boy about his health. "do you want blueberries in your waffle?" he asked. he already knew that answer too.
jungkook was nodding and his soft bangs bounced with the action. "so i was thinking," he had started to say.
"no."
"you don't even know what i was going to say." jungkook argued.
"you always say that when you're about to weasel out of something." namjoon said as he mixed the batter in a bowl. the waffle iron was heating up and there was a slight burning smell from whatever was left on it from last time. "and it's tuesday, which means your teacher is coming today."
the younger just gave up, and slouched against the counter. "i don't feel well." he tried. he knew there was a soft spot in his hyungs heart, sometimes jungkook would occasionally work the pouty lip and bambi eyes to get what he wanted.
"nice try. get the blueberries." namjoon chuckled and watched as the younger simply sighed and walked around the counter. the boy was really good at that, maneuvering his way around without bumping into corners or seeming hesitant. jungkook also knew the blueberries were always on the second shelf to the right.
