You needed a plan. You needed to know how you were going to deal with this situation. The goal? To make amends with Leon and tell him how you feel.

Thats right; it's time to confess your feelings. You realized that the only way you could prevent this issue from happening again was to come clean and tell Leon about your inner thoughts and feelings. You didn't think he would reciprocate your feelings, but it was worth giving a shot instead of keeping it inside.

Plus, nothing was holding you back now that you knew Diantha and Leon were never truly a couple.

Right now, you were walking back into town with Marnie.

"Should I tell him about my crush on him?" you asked, checking if you were making the right decision.

"It's better to be honest than trap your feelings inside," Marnie replied. "I speak from experience. I've never spoken about my feelings, and I have a lot of issues."

You acknowledged her and fell silent. This was going to change the whole dynamic of yours and Leon's relationship. You doubted this would ruin your friendship even if he didn't have feelings, as you knew that was not the type of person Leon was.

"Might want to give Leon a text so he knows where to find you," Marnie suggested.

You nodded and pulled out your phone and began typing.

You- I'm sorry for how I reacted earlier. I think I need to become completely honest with you. Can we talk outside the Pokemon Center in a few minutes?

You stared at your phone at the word "delivered". Had he noticed your message and ignored it? Or was he busy with something else now that you're out of the way? You nervously tapped the phone until the word "read" appeared and a chat bubble appeared.

Leon <3- I'm sorry for not being honest with you and for the things I said. I'll be there ASAP.

You titled your phone at Marnie. Marnie looked over the two texts and nodded.

"Are you sure I should go through with this?" you asked.

"If you don't get this out of the way, you're risking jeopardizing any chances of reconciling you have," Marnie snapped, annoyed. "If you back out, game over."

You sighed. "Wish me luck."

"Good luck," said Marnie, before turning and going the opposite direction.

You didn't even wonder where she was going. The only thing on your mind was how you were going to confess to Leon. You continued walking through the town until you reached the Pokemon Center. Outside stood a nervous Leon, who paced back and forth outside the door. He hadn't noticed you yet. His mouth was twisted into a pitiful frown and his eyes were filled with concern. You wondered what was going on in his mind during that moment.

You cleared your throat. Leon looked up from the ground and stopped pacing. He forced a smile.

"How's it going?" Leon asked. His smile fell as he looked into your eyes, which told you it was obvious that you had been crying. "Listen, I probably should-"

"Wait, let me apologize," you interrupted. "Look, I overreacted. I don't have the right to know about your whole life or question your actions, no matter how close we are. Even though we aren't really friends. I truly am sorry."

"No, no," Leon put his hands up. "You got it all wrong. I'm the one that has to be sorry!"

You opened your mouth to speak, but Leon continued speaking. "First of all, I never should have said anything to imply we aren't friends," Leon explained. "You're one of the best friends I have ever had."

Of course, Leon using the word friend to describe you didn't sit well with you. But you ignored the weight pulling on your heart and chose to focus on the main issue at hand.

"Also, I'm sorry that I lied about my fake relationship," Leon continued. "Even though you said that I'm my own person, you had a point. Friends don't lie to friends. I should've told you."

You certainly didn't expect this. You didn't expect your next reaction, either. Without thinking, laughter bubbled from your throat and escaped your mouth. You laughed, thinking about how ridiculous this whole situation was.

"Wow, this is bizarre," you said. "Today has been quite the emotional rollercoaster."

Leon grinned. "It really has, hasn't it?"

You both fell silent. You felt incredibly awkward, but you knew you weren't done yet. To truly make amends for the whole situation, you had to continue.

"Well, I'm not done just yet," you admitted sheepishly. "Since we're being honest here, I have something to tell you."

Once again, Leon frowned. He obviously was confused because he didn't know what else you could be troubled about.

You shuddered and took in a shaky breath. Your legs felt like jelly and began to quiver.

"Hey, are you okay?" Leon asked with concern.

"Y-Yeah, this is just hard," you admitted. "Where do I begin?"

You took in another breath and steadied your legs. "I guess I'll just be upfront."

"Leon, I like you."

All movement from Leon ceased. He stared at you, stunned. You felt as though a weight was taken off your chest.

"I really do," you said. "I know this is ridiculous because just a few weeks ago I disliked you, but I see that I was so wrong before. It's okay if you don't like me back, I just feel that I should be completely honest with you."

Leon's eye twitched. "U-Uh yes, honesty is great." His voice sounded forced and distant.

"I don't want this to change our friendship or anything," you said.

"It's just a celebrity crush," Leon stated.

You raised an eyebrow.

"You like me for the same reasons other girls do," Leon said. "Don't worry, it'll pass. I'm a celebrity, and everyone has a thing for celebrities."

"It's not like that at all!" you exclaimed. "Your fans haven't spoken to you like I have..."

"This is nothing to be worried about!" Leon exclaimed. "I don't even have time for a relationship. Besides, a girl like you can do better than the likes of me."

You opened your mouth to protest, but Leon shook his head, prompting you to stay quiet. He sent out his Charizard and hopped onto its back.

"Your feelings will go away soon, don't worry," Leon said. "I'll see you during your next battle of the Gym Challenge."

With that, he flew away, leaving you to contemplate what he had just said. He was very redundant in his little speech. What did he mean, your feelings would go away? Did he not understand human emotions?

Your heart was definitely broken. Even though you didn't expect him to reciprocate, you didn't expect this cold reaction.

He was wrong about your feelings.

But you knew he wouldn't listen.
