Chapter Twelve

You slowly woke up as the sun shone through the curtains of the Inn window. You were tucked under soft, warm covers and frankly didn't want to wake up. The sun shone directly onto your face, making you wake up.

You sat up and yawned, before noticing you were the only one in the bed. You looked to your right and saw that the bedsheets were crinkled and the pillow wasn't fluffy, showing signs that someone had once been sleeping there.

Where did Leon go?

You got out of bed in shorts and your favorite oversized t-shirt. You decided to head to the bathroom to freshen up before you got ready for the day.

When you opened the door, you saw a sight you were fully not expecting to see. Before you stood Leon, who only wore a towel to cover everything below his midsection. He noticed you instantly and froze.

You weren't a pervert, but you weren't able to restrain yourself from looking down. Leon had very defined abs and muscular chest, with strong arms to match. He definitely was very built and attractive. He had everything that you thought was physically attractive for a man. You didn't dare try to look lower, even though a towel prevented you from seeing anything.

You covered your eyes with your hands immediately after realizing you just checked him out. He had a girlfriend, for goodness sake!

"I-I didn't s-see anything! I-I swear!" you stammered, feeling your face heat up.

Leon laughed awkwardly. "Like what you see?" Though it was meant to sound confident, Leon sounded very nervous.

"N-No!" you sputtered.

"Shouldn't you leave, then?"

"Jerk!" you ran out of the bathroom, your face bright red.

You walked back into the bedroom, flustered. You ran your hands through your hair, taking in deep breaths.

You really just saw Leon practically naked in the bathroom. After fanning yourself for a few seconds, a smile made its way onto your face, though you weren't quite sure why.

After awkwardly avoiding each other for the rest of the morning, you eventually had to face each other and go into the lobby together. Leon held the door open for you as you exited the Inn room, leaving most of your stuff behind since you were to return tonight.

"So, are you excited for your first training with Mega Evolution?" Leon questioned, trying to make conversation as you walked to the lobby.

"Yeah," you replied, thinking of what to add on.

There definitely was a tight tension between the two of you. You were in the lobby, and Leon prepared to say something else. Thankfully, Hop interrupted, saving you from turning into a tomato.

"Hey, (y/n), can't wait for our battle!" Hop exclaimed. "I won't go easy, though."

You smirked. "Then I'll have to go easy on you."

Hop playfully glared at you. "We'll see who's easy to beat."

At some point, Diantha had come inside of the Inn and had started approaching you.

"It is nice to see some youthful competition between two young trainers," Diantha spoke. "Although, I've come to find I am not much older than yourself."

"Diantha, you make it sound as if you and I are old," Leon whined.

"You are," you said.

"I'm three years older than you!" Leon exclaimed.
