May 2027

Mapi's POV:

"The season is over!" Leila smiled. "Which means, Mariana is coming back here!"

"Yes, she is." I smiled. "I can't wait to have my ENTIRE family back together."

"Speaking of the end of the season." Mariona walked over. "We," She motioned to her and Leila. "have an announcement. You are the first people to know of this. Tell them babe."

"We are sending out the save the dates for our wedding." Leila said.

"YES!" Patri cheered.

"And it will be this summer."

"Copying me huh?" I smirked.

"Summer is a good time to get married. Especially with our line of work."

"Summer is a good time to get married if your name isn't Jenni or Alexia." Aitana said. "If you name IS Alexia or Jenni, you just get married a random week in March."

"Wanna fight about it?" Alexia asked.

"Babe." Jenni put her hands on her shoulders. "Relax. I'm happy you brought that up, Aitana. We are having a SMALL get together next weekend to celebrate our marriage with all of our closet friends."

"5 years after getting married?" I asked. "Makes sense. I will be there BUT Mariana has to go to America next week for something. She should be back in time."

"Good." Alexia smiled.

Mariana's POV:

I landed in Los Angeles and smiled. "Didn't think I'd be back in America." I turned to my agent.

"Just 2 interviews and you can go back home."

"I know." I laughed. "I just want to see Mapi as soon as possible."

I got to the studio and looked around. "Welcome, Mariana." One of the crew said. "Will you be needing a translator today?"

"No. I speak and understand English." I smiled.

I got ready for the interview and texted Mapi.

Mapi's POV:

"IT'S TIME!" I yelled. "EVERYONE SHUT UP! MY WIFE IS ON TV!"

"You are literally the only person yelling." Virginia leaned back on the couch.

"My next guest is a professional soccer player. Her new documentary is giving fans a look into her life both on and off the field. Take a look."

"Should I turn the subtitles on?" Jenni looked around. "Not all of us understand English."

"I do and that's all that matters!" I yelled. They all stared at me. "Turn on the subtitles." I mumbled.

"Please welcome, Mariana dos Santos Mendes!"

She walked out and waved at the crowd.

"MAN SHE LOOKS GREAT!" Leila yelled. "Look she's like glowing."

"Hey. Stop looking at my wife like that."

"Yeah. Stop looking at her wife like that." Mariona crossed her arms. "But Mapi. She does look incredible. Patri! Get a towel! Mapi's drooling!"

"No, I'm not." I wiped my face.

"Mariana. Welcome. Thanks for coming on the show today."

"Thanks for having me."

"You just finished up another season. You played for Santa Clara in Portugal this year. How was that?"

"It was fun. I was on loan there from Barcelona. It was fun to play in Portugal again."

"You were born there," She nodded. "The documentary touches on that a lot. What I liked about this was, they used a lot of game footage and old movies your family had. They filmed you for a few years, but you would never have known."

"No, they were really respectful in filming what I wanted them too and giving me and my family the space we needed.

"You are recently married." She nodded. "You married fellow soccer player, Mapi Leon last summer. How was that?"

"Great. Mapi is my other half. Marrying her was the best day ever."

"Any kids?"

"Not of our own." She laughed. "I have full custody of my nephew and Mapi has been great with him."

She was asked about her career and her brother. They talked about the movie and then it was over.

After another day in America, Mariana flew back to Portugal to wrap up there. She was going to get Gabriel and then she was going to come home to me.

June 2027

Mapi's POV:

"Babe!" I hugged her. "I missed you."

"I missed you too." She looked at me. "When we're alone we need to talk."

"Ok." I smiled. "Everything ok?"

"Everything is perfect."

I took the sleeping Gabriel in my arms and we drove home. When we got there I put him in his room and sat on the couch with Mariana.

"What's up?" I turned to her.

"Before I say anything you need to promise to let me finish speaking before you open your mouth once."

"What?" I laughed.

"Promise."

"I promise." I smiled. "Now tell me."

"Ok. So we agreed that we both want kids." I nodded. "And we talked over all the options for how we can do that. Towards the end of the season, I did some thinking and I know I didn't talk to you but,"

"What did you do?"

"You promised!" I pretended to zip my mouth what. "I went to see my doctor just to ask about what the process would be like. So we could have more information as we start to move forward. And the process seemed very straight forward." I nodded. "And I decided to go ahead with it."

"What did you do." I mouthed.

"I found out when I got back to Portugal." She smiled. "Mapi I'm pregnant."

"WHAT!"

"SHHH! Gabriel is asleep!"

"What!" I yelled in a whisper.

"I'm pregnant. We're going to have a baby."

"We're going to have a baby." I repeated. "You're pregnant and we're going to have a baby."

She nodded. "Are you ok with this?"

"Ok with this?" She nodded. "Babe I'm so fucking excited!" I put my hands on her stomach. "We're having a baby."

"We can't tell anyone yet. Ok? Tell NO ONE."

"I know." I hugged her. "We're having a baby." I couldn't wipe the smile from my face. "I'm a little upset you kept it from me but I'm so excited."

"Let's be real here. Were you really going to carry a baby?"

"I could've." I crossed my arms. She stared at me. "Whatever," She laughed. "You are pregnant and we are having a baby."

We're going to have a baby!
