Mariana's POV:
"Hate to break up this sweet moment but can someone drive me to the hospital?" Lola said.
"What's going on?"
"Carmen's in labor."
"CARMEN'S IN WHAT!" I yelled.
"She's in labor! I'm going to be a parent! I AM NOT READY FOR THIS! I CAN'T EVEN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!"
I dragged her to the car. "I'll drive!" I pushed her into the passenger seat.
"It's my car." Virginia said.
"I'll. Drive."
"Ok." She strapped Felicia into the car seat and Mapi got in too.
"We'll meet you there!" Alexia yelled.
I drove to the hospital. "Lola listen to me very carefully." I said as we got closer. "You are not going to panic. I know you are but the SECOND you are by Carmen's side, you are going to be a relaxed wife. Ok? You are not going to panic, you won't let her see you panic, do you understand me?"
"Yes."
"Good. Who's with her?" I asked.
"She was with Patri." Lola said. "Patri called me. She told them I'm on my way."
"Good. Vir, call Patri and ask for the room and everything. Lola right when I pull up, you haul ass ok?"
"Yeah."
"Vir you go with her. Mapi and I will park, wait for Ale and Jenni and then meet you up there."
"I'll text you what room once we're up there." Virginia said.
"Good." I nodded and saw the hospital.
"Mapi panicked when Mariana went into labor. Lola panicked when Carmen went into labor. You guys had 9 months to prepare and still weren't ready?"
"Not the time." I said and pulled up to the door. "GO!" I yelled.
Lola and Vir ran inside and I went to park the car with Mapi.
We waited out front for Alexia and Jenni. Mapi held Felicia. "Hi baby girl." She smiled. "I love you." She kissed her cheeks. "I love you so much."
I smiled. "You're not going to fail, Mapi. We're a team. We're parents, both of us. If one of us fails, we both fail." She nodded. "I'm not going to fail, which means you won't either. I won't let you."
"I love you." She said.
"I love you."
"We're here!" Jenni ran up. Alexia was now holding Maxi.
"Surprise he was here the whole time." She said.
"Where is she?" Jenni asked.
"Vir just texted." I said. "Let's go."
We got to the floor and saw Patri outside. "You ok?" I looked at her.
"I'm never hanging around pregnant people again. That was too stressful for me." She sat down. "You can go in the room, I need a minute."
We laughed and walked inside. Lola was running her fingers through Carmen's hair and holding her hand. "You broke poor Patri." Jenni said.
"Neither of us were ready for that." Carmen said with her eyes closed. I walked to her side and grabbed her other hand.
"You got this." I whispered.
"Thanks, Mari." She smiled.
I sat with her, Lola and I holding her hands while we waited.
As the hours flew by, the families arrived.
We all continued to wait until the doctor came in and said the words.
"Alright, mom. Ready to push?"
Carmen looked up at Lola, scared.
"You got this." Lola smiled. "You're doing amazing and I am right here."
Carmen nodded.
We all left the room and waited. The screams of pain heard through the room.
"I'm so happy I didn't have to push." I said without thinking.
"You almost bled out." Leila said.
"But I didn't have to push." I looked at her. "Can't win them all."
We sat in the waiting room and then Lola came out. I stood up. "You alright?"
She shook her head. "Um so the baby is here." She smiled. "It's a boy." She laughed. "Um but then there was an issue with the second baby."
"Second baby?" Jenni stood up.
Lola nodded. "Twins. They're doing a cesarean. They said mother and baby will be fine but I can't go in there right now."
I walked toward her. "They'll be fine." I said.
"We wanted to talk to Jenni and Mariana before this but we didn't get the chance. It feels wrong talking to you without Carmen but,"
"We can wait, Lola." Jenni said.
"Yeah. We can wait." Lola nodded. "Go see your son."
She smiled. "My son. I have a son."
She walked away and I looked at Jenni. "Felicia is the only girl." I shook my head. "Poor thing." We all sat and waited. I looked at Alexia holding the baby as Jenni laughed.
"What?" I asked her.
"We had a conversation with Lola a few years ago. Talking about our futures and Alexia said that she would never be anyone's godmother. That when we started having kids, she would not be a godmother. But the second Mariana here is pregnant and asks Alexia that simple question. Alexia said yes, now look at her."
Alexia laughed too. "I grew up." She said. "Besides, I like Mariana. And this cutie? How could I have turned down being her godmother."
"What did you say?" Virginia said.
"That I 100% want to be a godmother." She laughed. "But you picked Alexia and Vir."
More time flew by as we waited. Lola came out and smiled. "A girl. A boy and a girl. They're all perfect, and Carmen wants to see Jenni and Mariana."
We got up and went into the room.
"Lola told you right? That we wanted to talk but couldn't?" Carmen asked.
"Yeah. What's up?" I asked.
Lola looked down at her and smiled. "We couldn't decide which one we wanted. But then we found out we were having twins and it was the best thing. Two good picks for godmothers, two babies. Jenni, I remember you said you wanted to be a godmother. That stuck with me. And Mariana? You've been a great parent since the day you stepped up to raise Gabriel. You're also a great friend to us. Will you be the godmothers of our children?"
"No." I smirked. They all looked at me "I'm kidding. Of course I will."
"Me too." Jenni laughed.
A boy and a girl!!! Help with names please.....
