Beautiful Moment

Mapi's POV:

"I'll explain it all. And hopefully, this will all be fixed." I looked down at my phone. "And this move won't backfire."

"Wait. What move?" Alexia asked.

I looked over at Alba. "You didn't tell them the whole plan?" She asked.

I shook my head. "I requested to have my contract with Barcelona terminated." I took a deep breath. "So I can move to Madrid and be with Mariana." 

"You did what!" Alexia yelled. "Mapi are you out of your fucking mind!" 

"Babe."

"Let me answer that FOR you. You ARE!"

"Babe." Jenni sighed. "Relax." She turned to me. "Are you serious?"

"I love Mariana. And as much as I love football and playing for this club, one day all that will end. Whenever I officially hang up my boots, I want Mariana there. I always want to be by her side."

"Even if it means giving up everything?" Alexia asked.

"Mariana is my everything, Ale." I said. 

Mariana's POV:

"Hey, guys. What are you doing here?" I smiled. 

"Just visiting you and my goddaughter." Alexia hugged me. "Where is the little cutie?"

"Her aunt Lola took for her the day. Getting some practice in."

"I still can't believe Carmen hasn't gone into labor yet." Alexia said.

"Could be any day now." I smiled. "Hopefully soon. Pregnant Carmen is minutes away from murdering our dear friend Lola." They laughed. "Where's Maxi?"

"Alba." Jenni said. "How about we take you out for lunch." She smiled. "We've missed spending time with you so it's our treat."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah." Alexia said. "Come on."

I stared at them. "Fine. Ok. Let me just tell Virginia to pick up Felicia in a few hours." They nodded. I called Vir and told her, then drove off with the weird couple. 

"Have you talked to Mapi at all?" Jenni asked.

"You know I haven't." I sighed. "I miss her, I really do but,"

"But you're hurting." Alexia said. I nodded. "Mari I'm not going to tell you what to do, but you guys are still married. And there's a baby involved now. I think you two should at least talk. If not for each other, do it for Felicia." 

"I'll think about it." I said. "Right now I want to enjoy time with you two." I smiled.

"We're your Spanish moms." Jenni turned to me and smiled.

"Patri warned me about this." I said.

Mapi's POV:

"That's for this, Vir." I smiled. 

"As much as I love and want to protect, Mariana. You two need to get over this." She crossed her arms. "What's the plan?"

I told her. "Thoughts?"

"Not bad, Mapi." She smiled. "Still surprised you left Barca though."

"I put in the request. They haven't approved it yet. So I haven't left Barcelona, not yet."

"You're willing to leave football for Mariana?"

I shrugged. "I'm done with the national team, I'm ready to move on. I found a studio in Madrid that is looking for new artists. Plus I'm going to get my coaching license. I want to stay involved in football."

"You've thought about this?" She asked playing with the ring on her finger.

"I always had a plan for my future, but then I met Mariana and it became our future. Then we got married and the baby was born and it turned into what do we do for her future. Everything I'm doing is for me but most importantly it's for them. Going to Madrid to be with my wife and daughter, taking a job so I can provide for them, but that job is still my passion so I'm happy. Staying involved in the sport that gave me my family. I never stopped thinking about this, Vir."

She nodded. "Well, let's hope you picked the right words. They're here." I saw Jenni's car and took a deep breath. "Wish me luck."

"You got this, Mapi. Don't fuck up this time." 

Mariana's POV:

"Where are we?" I asked getting out of the car. "This is sketchy."

"I used to come here all the time. It's fine." Jenni said. I heard the car doors shut and turned around. 

"Where are you guys going?"

"Alba just texted. Maxi isn't feeling too good. We're gonna go pick him up!" Alexia said.

"How am I supposed to get home?" I asked.

"I'll text Leila! Bye Mari!" They drove off. 

"What the hell?" I looked around. "This is great."

"I could drive you home." 

I turned around. "Mapi. What are you doing?"

"Just hear me out ok? Please." She put her hands up. "I screwed up. I promised you I wouldn't screw up anymore and I broke that promise. I hurt you even when I vowed I wouldn't. Losing you is exactly what I needed. I needed to see you leave to realize what I truly want in life. And that's you. That's you and our children. Gabriel and Felicia." She walked closer to me. "I want you, I wanted to marry you, I want to be married to you. I've done amazing things in my life but being your wife and a mom is the highlight. And I panicked. The day I became a mom was the same day I almost became a widow. And I panicked. I wanted everything to be perfect for Felicia because of that day. If anything happens to her then, I truly failed. You went into labor and I froze, Mariana. You were bleeding out and I froze."

"You couldn't have done anything."

"But I froze, Mariana. I just stared at you." She said. "You were dying and I just stood there and watched." 

"I didn't expect you to jump in and perform the surgery yourself." I said. "You did what I expected, held onto our daughter."

"I don't want to mess up with her."

"You won't." I looked down. "I found your little gift." I smiled. "I was going through her back a few days ago. I didn't know what it was but then I remembered."

"For when you miss me." I smiled. "Oh Mapi." I opened the envelope. Inside were pictures from the first day we all met Felicia. Along with a note.

"My sweet baby girl. No matter where I am, or where you are, I will always be there for you. I will always love you. The day you were born was the scariest day of my life, because I almost lost your mother. But I didn't lose her, and I gained you as well. You and your mother hold both halves to my heart."

"I read it to her. When I missed you." 

"Mariana dos Santos Mendes. I wanted to marry you then, I want to be married to you now. I never regretted marrying you, and I'm so sorry if it seemed like that. So here right now, in front of our friends." I looked at saw Virginia, Lola who was holding Felicia, Alexia, and Jenni. Mapi got down on one knee. "Will you marry me, again?"

I smiled and grabbed her face. "María Pilar León, yes I will marry you again." I kissed her.

"Yay!" Alexia clapped.

"Sorry Vir, it looks like you're losing your roommate." Jenni laughed.

"That's ok. Nahikari is moving in." She said without thinking. We all looking at her. "Surprise?"

"Hate to break up this sweet moment but can someone drive me to the hospital?" Lola said. 

"What's going on?"

"Carmen's in labor." 

What is Carmen going to have? Start helping with names since we all know I SUCK!
