Confessing

Mapi's POV:

I sat in the waiting room. Alexia and Leila sat on both sides, hands on my shoulders. 

Carmen took Virginia outside for a minute to calm her down. She then came in and sat with Mariana's mom. Mariana's dad showed up and was immediately brought to tears over his daughter. 

Natalia arrived too. 

A nurse walked in. "Mapi?" I stood up. "Come with me please." I turned to everyone else. 

"Go ahead." Alexia nodded. 

Virginia looked down. I walked to her and leaned down. "It's gonna be ok." I put my hand on her shoulder. She reached up and grabbed it.

The nurse took me away for a moment. "Your baby girl is healthy. There were no issues with her. She is perfectly fine."

"And Mariana?"

"Mariana suffered excessive blood loss. Luckily we reacted quickly enough and she is now stable. They're finishing up with her and then they'll bring her to her room."

I released the breath I was holding. "Thank you." I nodded. "When can I see them? Both of them?"

  "Once Mariana is brought to the room, I'll have someone bring your daughter in."

"My daughter." I smiled. 

"Time to start thinking of names?"

"I'll wait till I'm with Mariana." I smiled.

"I'll be out in a few minutes to bring you to your wife."

"Thank you." I nodded and walked back to everyone. 

"Well?" Virginia stood up.

"The baby is fine." I looked down. "Our daughter." 

"It's a girl." Tatiana sat up. 

I nodded. "A healthy baby girl." 

"And Mariana?" Lola asked. 

"She suffered excessive blood loss. The nurse said that they reacted quickly. They're finishing up with her now and will bring her to her room soon. She is stable. They're both stable." 

"Thank god." Virginia hugged me. "Thank god." 

I patted her back. "Mariana is the strongest person I know. There was no way we were gonna lose her." 

"We have a granddaughter." My parents smiled. "And Mariana is ok." 

"Congratulations, Mapi." Mariona hugged me.

"Mapi." The nurse came back. "You guys can come see Mariana and your daughter." I nodded. "Who wants to come?" The nurse asked.

"I think the godmothers should." I smiled. "Vir? Ale?"

"You picked Vir to be a godmother?" Leila smirked. "Good luck to that child."

"Who took charge when Mariana went into labor?" Jenni asked.

"I assume Mapi."

"Wrong. Virginia did." Lola smiled.

"Want to come meet your goddaughter?" I asked them.

"Really?" Vir asked.

"Come on." We followed her to the room. 

"Mariana is just waking up. The other nurse is bringing the baby right now." 

I walked to Mariana's side and kissed her forehead. She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Mapi?" She looked at me. "What happened?"
