“Oh, you’re awake?” Mr.Kim asked, noticing Jimin’s eyes flutter open while his body remained still. Jimin's gaze was fixed on the ceiling, a look of confusion crossing his features. He seemed lost in thought, grappling with questions about where he was and why he had ended up there.
“You fainted earlier, so I brought you here,” Mr.Kim explained gently, concern evident in his voice.
Startled, Jimin quickly tossed aside the blanket that had been covering him. He sighed in relief upon realizing he was still fully dressed, grateful that his embarrassment was spared.
“Don’t imagine things. It’s not good in there,” Mr.Kim scoffed, a playful smirk on his lips. He could see the thoughts racing through Jimin’s mind, and he wanted to ease his worries. He would never take advantage of him, but if Jimin wanted something more, he’d gladly oblige.
“I’m sorry,” Mr.Kim said after a moment of silence settled between them. Now sitting beside Jimin on the bed, he chuckled at the sight of Jimin’s pouty lips. He had always thought Jimin was cute, but with that adorable expression, he was even more irresistible. Who would be the lucky one to win this cutie’s heart?
“Do you know what time it is?” Mr.Kim asked, glancing at the black watch on his wrist before turning it towards Jimin.
Jimin just stared at the watch, momentarily distracted. Mr.Kim continued to speak, eager to draw Jimin back into the conversation. “This is a nice watch. I love the color.”
Jimin struggled to suppress a smile as he recognized the watch immediately—it was the one he had given Mr.Kim. The sight of it on Mr.Kim's wrist filled him with a sense of pride.
“That’s my watch?” Jimin asked, surprise evident in his voice, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“Yeah, look... This watch has lights,” Mr.Kim replied, pressing a button to illuminate the face in a vibrant blue that cast a gentle glow in the dim room. “It even shows the date! That’s perfect; I always forget the date. I really love this watch. Thank you!”
“You like it?” Jimin’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment, warmth spreading across his face. He hadn’t expected the son of Kim’s Hotel to appreciate such a simple gift. It made his heart race to think that something he had chosen could mean so much to someone like Mr.Kim Mingyu.
“Hmmm, I think I love it,” Mr.Kim said, leaning down to plant a soft kiss on the watch, as if sealing their new bond with a promise.
“Friends?” Mr.Kim extended his hand, a gesture of hope for a new beginning. Jimin’s face lit up, excitement bubbling within him as he took Mingyu’s hand. Their handshake felt electric, solidifying the connection they were forming. “My name is Kim Mingyu. Just call me Mingyu,” he said, a friendly glint sparkling in his eyes.
“My name is...” Jimin began, but Mingyu interrupted playfully.
“Cutie! I’ll call you Cutie!” Mingyu declared with a cheeky grin.
Jimin burst into laughter, playfully shoving Mingyu’s shoulder, feeling a lightness in his heart. In that moment, he realized he had gained not just a friend, but a special connection alongside Seulgi, and he couldn’t be happier.
As they sat together, sharing stories and laughter, the room filled with their joyful voices. Jimin felt a sense of comfort and warmth that he hadn’t experienced in a long time. It was as if the weight of the world had lifted, leaving only the promise of friendship and fun. This was more than just a casual encounter; it felt like the beginning of something truly special, a bond that would only deepen with time.
With each laugh and shared secret, Jimin knew that this friendship would be one he cherished. As he looked at Mingyu, a smile on his face and kindness in his eyes, he felt an undeniable connection forming, one that he hoped would last.
