"It's huge, Kookie hyung! I want a big snowman!" Jimin exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
It had been a week since Jimin had been recovering at the Jeon family home. Feeling much better now, he finally stepped outside, and for the entire week, he'd been pestering Jungkook to help him build a snowman.
"My pleasure, Jeon Jimin," Jungkook replied with a playful grin.
Jimin laughed, hugging his older brother. Mr. and Mrs. Jeon, watching from the window with their steaming cups of coffee, exchanged smiles, enjoying the heartwarming scene.
"Hyung, I need..." Jimin trailed off before rushing back into the house.
Jungkook stood there, watching his younger brother dash indoors, curious about what he was up to. Moments later, Jimin returned, clutching something in his hands.
"Where did you go?" Jungkook asked, raising an eyebrow.
"This!" Jimin proudly held up a black scarf, wrapping it carefully around the snowman’s neck. He stood back, admiring the large snowman that Jungkook had built for him, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
Jungkook chuckled at how much happiness such a simple thing brought to his brother. "Do you remember your first snowman?" he asked, thinking back to a day much like this one, years ago.Jimin’s face lit up at the memory. "Yes! You made a huuuuge snowman for me back then too!"
Jungkook laughed, gently back-hugging Jimin as they both admired their snowman. "And do you remember how you ran outside without even wearing proper clothes? I had to chase you back in to put on a thicker coat."
Jimin nodded, the memory clear in his mind. It was one of those carefree moments when they were younger, playing in the snow without a care in the world. Jimin had been so eager to play that he barely noticed how cold it was.
"Yeah, I remember," Jimin said, giggling. "I came out with just a sweater and a scarf, didn’t I? I was too excited to think about the cold."
"Exactly," Jungkook chuckled. "You had three layers of sweaters on, but no jacket. And that fluffy red beanie—how could I forget? You looked like a walking marshmallow."
Jimin giggled again, burying his face in Jungkook’s chest. "I was always in a hurry to play."
"You were, but it was fun. We stayed outside for hours, making snowmen and throwing snowballs until we were both exhausted." Jungkook sighed, reminiscing. "That was a good day."
Jimin looked up at Jungkook, his face flushed from both the cold and the joy of remembering that time. "It was. And today is too. Thank you, hyung."
Jungkook smiled down at Jimin. "Of course, Mochi. Always. Baby..." Jungkook murmured, brushing a lock of hair away from Jimin's forehead.
"Hmm?" Jimin responded, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"I have something for you," Jungkook said, a mischievous grin playing on his lips.
Jimin’s eyes widened with excitement. "What is it? Tell me, tell me!"
"Nope. You’ll get it on Christmas Day!" Jungkook teased, refusing to give in.
"Hyung!" Jimin whined, his pout returning instantly.
Little did Jungkook know, this would be his biggest regret. From that moment on, Jimin didn’t stop pestering him about the gift. Every day, Jimin would ask, beg, and whine, trying to get even the smallest hint out of Jungkook. But each time, Jungkook would only laugh and shake his head, determined to keep the surprise until Christmas.
As the snow continued to fall outside, the Jeon household filled with warmth and laughter, with Jimin's joyful energy lighting up the room. And even with his endless curiosity about his gift, the simple joy of being together was the best present of all.
