Jungkook pushed open the bedroom door, his eyes immediately scanning the space. The first place he looked was the bed, but Jimin wasn't there. His gaze traveled around the room, searching every corner, until his face softened with a smile. Sitting by the window, Jimin was playing with Chimmy, their beloved cat, laughing softly as he kissed the top of the cat's head.

"Chimmy, you love me, right?" Jimin giggled, his voice a mix of affection and sadness. "Nobody else loves me, so you have to love me."

"I love you," Jungkook said gently from the doorway.

Jimin’s head turned at the sound of his voice, his expression shifting. When he realized it was Jungkook, he quickly looked down. Chimmy jumped from Jimin's lap and padded over to Jungkook, weaving between his legs. Jungkook bent down, scooping the cat into his arms.

"Your owner seems a little sad today, huh?" Jungkook murmured, stroking Chimmy's head. The cat purred contentedly, loving the attention. Chimmy had always been Jimin’s comfort, a friend he could rely on. Jungkook had found the stray under his car one rainy day, and ever since Jimin laid eyes on Chimmy, he had begged Jungkook to let him keep the kitten. Seeing how much it brightened Jimin's days, Jungkook had agreed. Chimmy quickly became Jimin’s constant companion, filling the gaps of loneliness whenever Jungkook or his family couldn’t be there.

Jungkook sat down beside Jimin, handing Chimmy back. Jimin hugged the cat tightly to his chest, as if it were a shield.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook said softly, his eyes full of guilt. "I didn’t mean to upset you."

Jimin pouted but nodded, accepting the apology even though he wasn’t entirely sure why he had been mad in the first place. He could never stay upset with Jungkook for long. A day without talking to him felt unbearably empty.

"It’s okay," Jimin replied, though his voice was quiet.

Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. He knew Jimin had been hiding something. "Why didn’t you tell me?"

"Tell you what?" Jimin looked confused, clearly not following where Jungkook was going.

"About the blanket," Jungkook said softly, watching Jimin’s expression shift from confusion to fear. Jimin’s eyes widened, and he instinctively pulled his blanket tighter against him.

"You... you saw it?" Jimin whispered, his voice trembling.

Jungkook nodded. "I was cleaning up, and I found it under the bed. There was blood on it."

Jimin’s face turned pale as he stuttered, "I-I'm fine, really. It was just a little bit. I—I coughed, and there was some blood, but it’s nothing. I didn’t want to worry you..."

Jimin’s words faltered as tears welled up in his eyes. He couldn’t look at Jungkook, terrified of how he might react.

"Are you scared?" Jungkook asked quietly.

Jimin nodded, tears spilling down his cheeks as he finally let go of the fear he had been holding onto. Jungkook immediately pulled him into a tight embrace, and Jimin clung to him, releasing Chimmy so he could wrap his arms around Jungkook’s neck.

"I’m scared too," Jungkook admitted, his voice thick with emotion as he stroked Jimin's back. "But you don't have to go through this alone. I just want you to talk to me, Mochi. I want to know everything. Even the hard stuff. Especially the hard stuff."

Jungkook pressed his lips to Jimin’s temple. "I love you so much. I’ll be with you through all of it. I’ll be scared with you, but we’ll face it together. I don’t care how tough it gets, I want to be there for you. You don’t have to hide from me."

Jimin sobbed quietly into Jungkook's chest, overwhelmed by the warmth of his embrace and the sincerity of his words. He had always felt like a burden, trying to shield Jungkook from the worst of his condition. But here was Jungkook, willing to carry the weight with him.

"I love you, Kookie Hyung," Jimin whispered between his tears. "Thank you... for always being here."

Jungkook kissed the top of Jimin’s head and held him even closer, his voice tender as he reassured him. "I’ll always be here, Mochi. Always."
