"W-what are you doing here?"
(I don't know her. But she is pretty)
Jungkook stared at the woman in front of him, her face filled with confusion. He had no idea Yumi was in Korea, let alone standing before him now.
"Who is he?" Yumi asked, her gaze shifting to the man Jungkook had his arm around. Startled, Jungkook quickly pulled his hand away from his brother’s waist.
"He's... he's my..." Jungkook stammered, struggling to find the right words.
"I'm Jimin, his brother," Jimin cut in, his tone short but polite.
Yumi's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, I didn’t know you had a sibling in Korea. Actually, I didn’t know you had a brother at all."
Yumi wasn’t wrong—Jungkook had never told her about Jimin. She knew very little about his past. The only person who knew everything was Mingyu, and for Jungkook, that was enough. He had always felt Yumi didn’t need to know everything.
"By the way, I’m Yumi, Jungkook’s fiancée. Nice to meet you, Jimin." She smiled and extended her hand.
Jimin’s eyes flickered with shock, but he still shook her hand. His gaze shifted to Jungkook, whose expression was filled with guilt. Jimin’s mind swirled with questions. Fiancée? They had been here for almost a week, and Jungkook hadn’t said a word about being engaged.
"What took you so long, Yumi?" A voice suddenly interrupted the moment.
The three of them turned to see an elderly woman, probably in her 60s, approaching. Jimin’s eyes locked on her, unable to look anywhere else.
"M-Mom?" he stuttered, barely able to believe what he was seeing.
Mrs. Jeon looked at the boy who had just called her "Mom," confusion etched across her face as she tried to place him. And then, it hit her. Jimin—her son, the one she had missed for so long—was standing right in front of her. Tears streamed down his face as he fell to his knees.
"M-Mom," Jimin sobbed, overwhelmed by the emotions flooding through him.
Mrs. Jeon knelt down beside him, her own tears starting to fall. "You... you're Mochi? My son?"
"Mom, I’ve missed you so much," Jimin cried, clinging to her as though she might vanish again.
"My Mochi," Mrs. Jeon whispered, wrapping her arms around him tightly, as though she would never let go. "I never forgot you. Not for a single day."
"Please, don’t leave me again, Mom," Jimin begged through his tears. "I can’t bear it."
Mrs. Jeon held her son close, their tears mixing as they shared a moment of reunion so long overdue. Jungkook and his father watched with soft smiles, grateful that their family was finally together again—complete at last. For the first time in years, there was Kookie, Mochi, Mom, and Dad, all under one roof, one happy family.

Later, Jimin and his mother sat together on the sofa, hands clasped tightly as if they would lose each other if they let go. They laughed, cried, and shared memories, both joyful and painful. It had been so long since Mrs. Jeon had laughed like this, her face glowing with happiness.
In the background, Mr. Jeon, Jungkook, and Yumi watched silently, letting the mother and son have their time. Even Mr. Jeon, who had often been a source of tension between the brothers, couldn’t help but feel the joy radiating from his wife.
"Why didn’t you tell me you found Mochi?" Mr. Jeon asked Jungkook softly.
"Would you have wanted to know?" Jungkook replied, his voice low, the old bitterness toward his father lingering beneath his words. He had never agreed with leaving Jimin behind, and neither had his mother.
"Kookie..." Mr. Jeon began, but Jungkook cut him off.
"Dad, I’m happy to see Mom laughing like this. Please, don’t take that away from her. She needs this. We all do."
Yumi, standing quietly beside them, felt like an outsider in her own fiancé’s family. She had never known this part of Jungkook’s life, and now, watching the emotional reunion unfold, she wasn’t sure she belonged in it at all.
