"Mom, I want my gift!"
This was the daily routine with Jeon Jimin. If he wasn’t pestering Jungkook, he’d go to his mom or dad, demanding to know what his hyung had gotten him. His curiosity was at an all-time high.
"Mochi, can't you wait? It's tomorrow," Mrs. Jeon replied with a gentle smile.
"Nooo…" Jimin whined dramatically.
Jungkook, growing increasingly tired of Jimin's persistence, finally gave in to his frustration. "I swear, Jeon Jimin, if you don’t stop asking about the gift, you’re not going to get it!"
But Jimin was undeterred. He huffed, crossing his arms. "I swear, Jeon Jungkook hyung, if you don’t give me my gift today, I’ll run away! I'll leave you all alone!"
With that exaggerated proclamation, Jimin stomped out of the living room and into his bedroom, leaving Jungkook and his mother stunned.
"Run away?" Jungkook turned to his mom in disbelief. "Did I hear that right?"
Mrs. Jeon couldn’t contain her laughter. "Don’t worry, darling. Jimin isn’t going anywhere. We both know he won’t leave the people he loves."
Jungkook nodded in agreement, thinking the same thing. Jimin was too attached to his family to really run away… right?
But later that night, Jungkook's panicked voice echoed through the house. "Jimin?! Jimin!"
He had searched everywhere—Jimin's room, the living room, the bathroom, even the garage—but his younger brother was nowhere to be found. His heart raced with dread.
"Mom, I think he actually did it! Jimin’s not here. He took some of his clothes!" Jungkook called out in shock.
Mrs. Jeon, now fully concerned, hurried downstairs. "Go find him, Kookie. You know where he is," she said, her voice calm but firm.
Jungkook grabbed his car keys and the small gift he had hidden, rushing out of the house. He knew exactly where Jimin would be.
He sped to the park, his heart pounding. And there he was—sitting on the swing, slowly pushing himself with his legs, a small bag of clothes clutched to his chest.
Jungkook sighed in relief, but frustration still lingered. "It’s freezing out here, Mochi."
Jimin glanced up at him but said nothing, stubbornly rolling his eyes as if to say, "What do you care?"
"You know I’m worried about you," Jungkook said softly, stepping closer.
"Are you?" Jimin muttered, still upset.
Jimin tried to stand and walk away, but Jungkook gently grabbed his wrist, stopping him. "Don’t go. Please."
"My Mochi is so stubborn," Jungkook murmured with a small smile.
Jimin’s pout deepened. "So? You don’t love me, then?"
Jungkook exhaled, knowing he had to be patient. "I love you. You know that."
"But you’re not giving me what I want," Jimin replied, eyes narrowed.
Jungkook chuckled at Jimin’s sulking. "And what do you want?"
"My gift," Jimin said with a pout, staring at him expectantly.
With a laugh, Jungkook stepped behind him, wrapping his arms around Jimin in their favorite back-hug. His chin rested lightly on Jimin’s shoulder, and he sighed contentedly.
"I was going to give it to you at the perfect time," Jungkook began, "in front of our family. But… I guess now’s as good a time as any."
He pulled a small box from his pocket, the gift he had been holding onto. With a soft smile, he opened it and revealed a delicate ring.
"Will you marry me?"
Jimin froze, his eyes wide, unable to believe what was happening. He hadn’t expected something so monumental. His heart swelled with emotion, and tears pricked his eyes.
"H-hyung," Jimin whispered, still processing the moment. "You're… proposing?"
"Yes," Jungkook said softly. "I wanted to do it in a special place. In front of our family. At home. But… well, you ran away." He chuckled. "So, I think this place is perfect. It’s our park. Our memories. And you're my 'Park' after all."
Jimin’s tears fell freely as he smiled. "Yes."
"What?" Jungkook blinked in surprise.
"Yes! I want to marry you!" Jimin threw himself into Jungkook’s arms, squeezing him tightly. His emotions overflowed, and happy tears streamed down his face.
Jungkook held him close, feeling the warmth of the embrace. "I love you, Kookie hyung. I love you more than anything."
"I love you too, Mochi," Jungkook whispered. "From our first winter together until the end of time."
Jimin giggled, his heart soaring. This winter would always be special—a season of love, warmth, and the promise of forever.
