Mingyu rushed to the park as Jungkook had asked, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of Jimin. When he finally found him, his heart nearly stopped. Jimin was lying on the ground, clutching his stomach, his body trembling violently. Without hesitation, Mingyu knelt beside him and gently lifted him up. He could feel how fragile Jimin was, his whole body shaking uncontrollably.

"Don't... tell Kookie hyung," Jimin whispered weakly, his voice barely audible before his eyes fluttered shut and he fell unconscious.

Panic surged through Mingyu, but he didn’t waste another second. Scooping Jimin up, he rushed him to the hospital. As soon as they arrived, Mingyu’s hands trembled as he quickly dialed Seulgi’s number—the one person who knew Jimin best and could offer support.

Seulgi arrived at the hospital in a rush, her face pale and streaked with tears. When she saw Jimin lying in the hospital bed, connected to IVs, her heart shattered. Sitting by his side, she gently held his hand, caressing it softly.

"Why didn’t you tell me?" Seulgi whispered, her voice breaking as she looked at her best friend, feeling both hurt and worried.

Mingyu, still in shock from the scene in the park, stood quietly in the corner, unsure of what to say. The image of Jimin collapsing on the ground kept replaying in his mind.

Jimin stirred, slowly waking up. His eyes blinked open, and he saw Seulgi sitting beside him, tears streaming down her face. Despite his own pain, he managed a weak smile.

"Aish, don’t cry," Jimin murmured, his voice hoarse

"Aish, don’t cry," Jimin murmured, his voice hoarse. He reached for her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. "I’m okay. Really. If you keep crying, you’ll make me cry too."

His lips trembled as he spoke, barely holding back his own tears. Seulgi had always been the one to comfort him, the one who had seen him at his most vulnerable. She knew everything about him—every bruise, every secret. But this illness was something he hadn’t been able to share with her. He was afraid, uncertain of what would happen, and the thought of going through chemotherapy terrified him.

"I hate you, Chimchim," Seulgi whispered through her sobs. "I really hate you for not telling me."

Jimin let out a soft giggle, though it was shaky. That nickname—Chimchim—was what Seulgi called him whenever she was upset but still wanted to express how much she cared. It reminded him of the times when she had scolded him for hiding things from her.

'I fell, eomma didn’t hit me anymore. She loves me now,' Jimin had once told her when she noticed the bruises on his body.

Seulgi had always known the truth, though, and every time, she’d yell at him. 'Chimchim, I hate you for lying to me!'

Now, it felt like they were back in those days, only this time, the stakes were so much higher.

"I’m sorry," Jimin whispered, squeezing Seulgi’s hand gently. "I’m really sorry."

The room fell into an uncomfortable silence, the air thick with unspoken emotions. Mingyu, who had been standing silently, finally spoke up.

"Jungkook needs to know," he said, his voice firm, though his expression was filled with concern.

At the mention of Jungkook’s name, Jimin’s heart clenched. His body went rigid, and he stared at Mingyu, his voice suddenly filled with desperation.

"No!" Jimin practically shouted, struggling to sit up in the hospital bed. "Don’t tell him. Please."

Mingyu frowned, not understanding. "Why? Why can’t he know? He deserves to."

Jimin’s eyes filled with tears, his chest tightening. He missed Jungkook, missed his warmth, his smile. But after what he had seen—the picture of Jungkook and Yumi—his heart had shattered. He couldn’t put Jungkook in a position where he had to choose between them.

"I love him too much," Jimin whispered, his voice breaking as tears slid down his face. "I love him too much to ask him to make a choice between us."

Mingyu stood in stunned silence. He couldn’t fully grasp the situation, but it was clear that Jimin was hurting, trying to protect Jungkook from a choice that might tear them both apart.

"Please, Mingyu hyung," Jimin begged, his voice fragile. "Don’t tell him. Not yet."

Mingyu was torn

Mingyu was torn. On one hand, he knew Jungkook had a right to know what was happening. But on the other, he could see the pain and fear in Jimin’s eyes, and it made him hesitate. Should he respect Jimin’s wishes, or do what he felt was right?

He didn’t have an answer yet, but one thing was clear—Jimin was hurting, and the situation was far more complicated than it seemed.
