Jungkook gently held Jimin’s hand, his heart heavy as he watched his younger brother’s tear-filled eyes. They were on their way back to the Jeon family mansion, the place they had once called home.

"Let's go," Jungkook said softly, opening the car door for Jimin.

But Jimin didn’t move at first. He stood there, frozen, his gaze fixed on the porch of the house. Memories flooded his mind, each one hitting him harder than the last.

"Hyung..." Jimin’s voice was barely a whisper, filled with hesitation. He took a shaky breath as the memories overwhelmed him. He remembered the joy of building a giant snowman with Jungkook during winter, and how they would all gather in the backyard for family barbecues every weekend. Those were the days when everything felt perfect.

As they stepped inside, the flood of emotions became too much for Jimin to hold back. The familiar scent of the house, the warmth of the rooms—it was like stepping back in time. He had buried these memories for so long, and now they were unraveling, pulling at his heartstrings.

Tears spilled from Jimin’s eyes as he walked through the house, his legs carrying him almost on autopilot. "Hyung..." he choked out again, his voice trembling. His eyes scanned the living room—the same room where he and Jungkook used to watch cartoons together after school, laughing and eating snacks. The memories played vividly in his mind like a movie reel he couldn’t stop.

Jungkook followed closely behind, watching Jimin as he moved through the house. He knew what his brother was feeling because he felt it too. Every corner of the house was filled with memories of the two of them, of their family. It was overwhelming.

Jimin walked into the kitchen, his fingers brushing over the surface of the dining table. "This is where we used to eat," he murmured, more to himself than to Jungkook. His voice was thick with emotion. "Breakfast, lunch, dinner... we were always together here."

Jungkook swallowed hard, his own throat tight. "Yeah, we were," he replied softly.

They continued through the house until they reached Jungkook’s room. As soon as they stepped inside, Jimin’s tears turned into a soft, nostalgic smile. Everything was exactly the same as he remembered. The walls, the furniture, even the messy desk that Jungkook had never managed to clean up.

"Everything’s still the same," Jimin whispered in awe. His eyes landed on Jungkook’s desk, covered in doodles and scribbles. "Hyung, look at your desk," he said, his voice lightening with a hint of laughter.

Jungkook chuckled softly, shaking his head as he saw the familiar mess. "I never had the heart to clean it up," he admitted, his voice filled with affection. "You’re responsible for most of that, you know."

Jimin’s smile grew wider as he stepped closer to the desk. There, scribbled in his childish handwriting, was the phrase that warmed his heart.

‘Kookie hyung loves me.’

Jimin’s fingers traced the words he had written all those years ago. His heart ached, but for the first time in years, it was a bittersweet ache, full of love and memories. He turned to Jungkook, tears still in his eyes but now accompanied by a soft smile.
