Delia's Diner
1:00 pmJay sat alone in a booth at Delia's Diner as he looked at a menu and debated what to order besides the glass of water he had already asked for.
Even though he had been there hundreds of times since he was a kid, he still felt the need to grab a menu and look over it.
He turned his head and looked out of the window to see Beyoncé walking up the steps and entering the establishment.
She had come to Delia's for lunch because she really wanted one of their world famous burgers. She had been hanging out with Leigh, Kelly, and Nicki most of the morning, catching them up on everything with Lance. When it was time for lunch, they wanted the Rosebud, so she told them to go ahead without her. She'd catch up with them later.
Almost as soon as she entered, she noticed him. She smiled and walked over to the booth he was sitting at.
"Hi," she smiled as she stood over him.
"Hey ma," he said as he continued to look at his menu.
"Scoot over," Beyoncé said as she pushed his shoulder.
"Okay damn. Don't break my arm, Dumbo," Jay said as he scooted over.
"Stop being such a baby. I thought you were a 'big strong man.' Your words, not mine," Beyoncé said referring to something he had told her some years ago.
"Hell, the way you pushed me I could say the same about your ass," Jay chuckled.
Beyoncé laughed as she pushed her hair out of her face.
"I'm gonna start calling you the Hulk," Jay continued.
"Shut up," Beyoncé smiled.
"Nah, you'll always be my Dumbo," Jay smirked.
"You know, I hate that nickname," she said.
"You'll love it one day," he told her.
"I highly doubt that," she shook her head.
"Why'd you feel the need to invade my personal space and sit on this side of the booth? There's plenty of space over there," Jay asked her.
"Yeah, I know, but I wanted to sit over here with you. Is that a problem Shawn?" Beyoncé replied.
"No not at all. Just a question. Just don't let your brother see us sitting together. He might kick my ass," Jay told her.
"Why do you say that? What does my brother have to do with anything?" she asked him as she took his menu out of his hand and began to look over it.
"I was reading that," he said now empty-handed.
"Not anymore. Now answer my question," Beyoncé said.
"He saw us talking at church yesterday. He thinks I'm feeling you," Jay told her as he took his menu back.
He laid it on the table so that they could both look at it.
