Beyoncé walked up to the door of Jay's hotel room and knocked.

She wanted to bring by the Christmas present that she had gotten for him. She had heard from him since the dinner at his mom's last night, so she wanted to check in on him.

She had spent the entire day with her family since it was Christmas Eve, but she wanted to bring him his gift because she didn't know if she'd get to see him tomorrow.

She had been texting and calling him, and he wasn't answering which wasn't like him.

He soon came and opened the door.

"Hey, I just wanted to drop off your Christmas gift and say Merry Christmas. I know you're with Gabrielle, so I'm not gonna stay. I just wanted to give you this," she told him as she handed him a box.

"Gabrielle's not here," Jay told her.

"Where is she then?" Beyoncé asked.

"I don't know. I guess she's on her way back to Los Angeles. Your guess is as good as mine," he said.

"Why did she leave?" she asked him.

"Because I told her to. We broke up," Jay told her.

"Shawn, I'm so sorry," Beyoncé said as she hugged him.

"Don't be. It's fine. I'm not upset. I feel good actually," he said simply as she let him go.

"You aren't?" Beyoncé asked as Jay let her in to his room.

"Nope, it was an easy choice to make. Happy I made it. Now I can move on with my life and not have to lead her on anymore," Jay told her.

"What are you talking about?" she asked him.

"She gave me an ultimatum. She was sick of you being in my life. She asked me to choose between you and her. I chose you," Jay told her.

"You chose me? You broke up with her for me?" Beyoncé asked him.

"Yeah," he said.

"Shawn, why would you do that?" she asked him.

"You know why Bey," he told her.

"Shawn, I thought you wanted to marry her. I thought you were in love with her," she said.

"I'm in love with you Beyoncé," Jay told her.

"What am I supposed to do with that?" Beyoncé asked him as she felt herself starting to tear up.

"Whatever you want to do with it Bey. I'm just tired of trying to hide the way I feel about you. I can't do it anymore. I wanna be with you more than I've ever wanted anything in my whole life," Jay told her.

"Shawn, I-," she started before she stopped herself.

She thought about what she wanted to say next. She didn't know what the right thing to say was, but she knew that she was in love with him no matter how much she tried to deny it and move on. It was the reason that she couldn't hold down a steady relationship anymore. No one ever measured up to him.
